Name of a movie- 80s about an awkward teen who is transformed into a buff guy?

There was a movie I saw part of and I could never figure out what it was. I believe it was from the 80's and starts out with a awkward teen in high school, dorky, not many friends, throwing a party where he hopes everyone attends from school. No one shows up but his one cute popular friends calls to check on him, and he blasts the music so she doesn't know the party was a bust. He's embarrassed and sad. Somehow he ends up being transformed overnight into a ripped jock physique and plays it off as if he's his cousin? or something. That's all I remember. Please help!!

it could be "Hunk", but that has nothing to do with teens.  He was a nerdy computer programmer who makes a deal with the devil to become attractive. And all through the movie he is tempted by a beautiful woman working with the devil and in the end they both turn back to their geeky selves

I don't know the movie and might get thumbs down for this,but when I read the question it made me thing of Steve Urkel turning into "Stephon Urkell" on Family matters lol..Someone has to have thought the same thing hehe =-)
