Name of toy- connectics? konectics?

It's hard for me to explain. They are building pieces that are slim and I guess look kinda like gears. I think they come in a tube shaped package and they remind me of transformers. Help anyone? D:

They are called " k'nex ". My 4 yr. old loves them.
