  1. have you tried google?

  2. http://www.last-names.net/

    try this. you can type in your last name or search by first letter.

    for changing your last name::::

  3. It is spelled "surname", oddly enough.

    I like this one:

    http://www.ancestry.com/learn/facts/defa...

    You can use

    http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/f...

    to look up odd surnames. They have 113 people named "Pencil". Note that their site has no living people, just dead ones.

    As long as you don't pick an obscene word and don't do it to defraud someone (Like changing your last name to "Burrito" and applying for a scholarship for people with Hispanic surnames) you can change your name to anything you want.

  4. just go to google and type in name origins

    it comes up with a lot of different websites
