my female cousin is 43 years old and her name is Shawn. i always thought of it as a girl name, until Sean became very popular for boys. is Shawn Johnson the gymnast? she's a doll. i like it for a girl - i think it is feminine also.

I had a teacher and her name was Shon, which I have never seen a guy with it spelled that way.. I mostly see Sean for guys as well.
