I'm just starting out w/ my gardening obsession. I want to know what species these plants are so that I can do a little less guess work about taking care of them. If you can identify any of these plants that would be a great help!

I got the flower from walmart. It didnt have a label with it. Its recovering from transplant, I think? It wilts easily.

This flower just started blooming

I clipped this flower off because it was dying. It's a pretty thick flower

These I know are some sort of succulents. They were given to me by my friend off of some of her plants.

This green leaf fell off another larger plant. I'm assuming it's some sort of succulent too. It just mysteriously sits straight up, never moving or changing....

Any help would be nice!

  1. The first two photos are definately zinnias.  Sorry, can't  help with the succulents

  2. The small green cuttings could be a form of a jade plant. The tall stalk could be a variety of the christmas cactas in which every couple of years the "stalk" will grow a flower on the very top. The thick full pink flower could be an aster or a mum. The pink and white flower could be a daisy. I found the daisy information because I thought it looks sorta like a daisy, so I went online and searched daisy. The website I found said that daisies can come in a variety of solid colors and also a rare version that is spilt in half by two different colors. I am not totally sure on this so to get the true answer you would have to go to a local greenhouse of gardener.

I hope the information I gave you was helpful. But I am sorry if it wasn't. Good Luck!!

  3. Your flower from Wal Mart is a zinnia. It's an annual plant meaning it won't come back next year. If you save the dried dead flowers, those are seeds which you can plant yourself next year. There are different varieties but there all the same family that's why they look different.

I'm not sure of the Little plant but the last one you show is a cactus. You can find info on line for it.
