  1. The fixed gear part is complicating things. I guess it would have to be Schneider Trophy racing planes of the 1930's.

    I'll go with :-

    1934 - Macchi MC72 - 440.68mph (705kmh)

    1931 - Supermarine S6B - 340 mph (547kmh)

    1929 - Supermarine S6 - 328.6 mph (528kmh)
