  1. I'm wondering if you don't have the SPI game War of the Ring.

There were two versions -- one in a box (that just contained the main game, and a mounted map): http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/6558

And, one which was in the SPI 'flatbox' which contained 3 games and a paper (unmounted) map: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/37202

Any of these seem like it? If so, there're both worth decent coinage - probably between $125-175.

  2. this sounds like the lord of the rings figures my son used to collect. You used to get them from games workshop. Are you sure they are from the 1970s ? Anyway if they are in good condition i am sure you would get a buyer. Try ebay under collectors items

  3. Sounds like the game that you have is "War of the Ring: The Game of Middle Earth" from Fantasy games Unlimited.  You can get some more info on it here:

No idea on pricing, would depend on the condition, buyer interest etc.  May potentially sell for more to a Middle Earth collector than a game collector, depending on the quality of the game play and the components.

    Happy ring-bearing!
