  1. Middle blocker/Middle Hitter, Right front, Left front, Right back, Left back,(sometimes you can have a center back if you shift one over), Setter.  But this is just an old 4-2 set up.

  2. 2 Outside hitters, 2 Middles, 1 Setter, 1 Opposite

  3. Well I will start with the upper left spot on the court and go Clock wise.

    - outdide hitter

    - middle blocker

    - setter

    - server

    - left back

    - middle back

There also is a libreo but he/she is not considered any postion, they play any spot on the court when needed!

  4. outside hitter, middle blocker, right hitter, setter, middle back, and left back....hope this answers your question!!!

  5. server

    front setter

    middle blocker

    outside hitter

    back setter

    back middle

  6. outside hitter, middle hitter/blocker, setter, right back-D/S, middle back-D/S, left back-D/S

  7. 2 outside hitters- They are often the designated passers and play opposite each other. They are sometimes referred as strong side hitters.

    2 middle hitters

    1 setter

1 opposite hitter -It's often referred to as a weak side hitter. It's called 'opposite' because they are lined up 'opposite' of the setter.

This is the setup for a 5/1 lineup. (5 hitters and 1 setter). A 6/2 uses 6 hitters and 2 setters. This means the opposite hitter sets when in the back row to use the other setter as a hitter when in front.

There is no so-called 'server position' as some others have implied. Everybody serves.

  8. left back, right back, middle back, left front, middle blocker, right front

  9. In a high level volleyball match there are 7 positions.  Only 6 are on the floor at once.  You have a front row outside and a back row outside hitter.  You have a front row middle blocker and then usually a back row libero plays backrow for the middle blockers.  The backrow middle blocker comes out of the game after the front row and the libero goes in for the opposite middle.  Then theres the setter and the rightside (or opposite) hitter.

  10. well it depends....but as far as i remembered during my grade school up to college days we do practice here in our school the 6-2 formation.......

In the 6-2 formation, a player always comes forward from the back row to set. The three front row players are all in attacking positions. Thus, all six players act as hitters at one time or another, while two can act as setters. So the 6-2 formation is actually a 4-2 system, but the back-row setter penetrates to set.

The 6-2 lineup thus requires two setters, who line up opposite to each other in the rotation. In addition to the setters, a typical lineup will have two middle hitters and two outside hitters. By aligning like positions opposite themselves in the rotation, there will always be one of each position in the front and back rows. After service, the players in the front row move into their assigned positions.

The advantage of the 6-2 is that there are always three front-row hitters available, maximizing the offensive possibilities. However, not only does the 6-2 require a team to possess two people capable of performing the highly specialized role of setter, it also requires both of those players to be effective offensive hitters when not in the setter position

hope it gives you some idea.....

  17. Wow, there are a lot of bad wrong answers on here.

    2 power/left side hitters

    2 middle blocker/hitters

1-2 setters 5-1/6-2 depends on how your team runs

    1 weakside/right side if you run a 5-1

    libero- if used

    Those are all the positions.

You may run a six back or six up defense.  This just mean the person in the middle back either plays up and covers the tips and short defense or six back where he watches the deep balls.  The outside defensive players play accordingly.  This are just the basics.

  18. setter

    right side

    outside hitter 1

    outside hitter 2

    middle hitter 1

    middle hitter 2

and there is usually a libero

  19. Outside hitter x 2

    Setter

    Opposite

    Middle x 2 (or 1 middle and a DS/libero)
