Name this movie! Made-for-TV 80's possibly 90's?

I was a little girl and I remember this movie being in separate parts (you had to wait to see what happened next type of thing). From what my memory can piece together. . . . A man walks out of a hospital and there is destruction all around him. Some catastrophic event has happened. There are other characters (that are his friends) as well. At some point they go to see a hypnotist. There is some sort of anti-christ figure present in this made-for-TV-movie. The "antichrist" (who is just a man) has a crony that likes to blow things up (like a pyro). At the end, I believe, the pyro guy actually does blow himself up. The main characters girl friend actually ends up going off with the anti-christ person and I believe she gets pregnant.

I'm 21 and have been searching for the name of this movie for 10 years! If you have any ideas I would very much appreciate it!

My Favorite movie, Stephen Kings "The Stand"

Randall Flagg was the antichrist, Mother Abigale, the force of good, and of course who could forget the famous lines of Trash can man, who liked to blow things up "my life for you" when he was speaking of the antichrist Randall Flagg, and "Boombity-Boom" when he was blowing something up. The two before me (or rather 10 by now) are correct.  It is "The Stand".  The catastrophic event is a virus that kills 99% of people.  Two bands of people gather,  good and bad.  Good in Boulder, CO, the other in Vegas, NV (makes sense lol).

The book is a great read but if I recall it was close to 1100 pages.  I think

Two great characters in the movie I recall were Gary Sinise and Rob Lowe (Deaf, mute).

It sounds like the Johnny Depp movie where the woman takes him off in the end. (He joins her after about an hour of mating.) She is like the AntiChrist.
