  1. Manon Rheume First Female to play in a NHL game ( pre season)

Jacques Plante first goalie to wear an NHL mask

Willie O'ree first NHL black player ( there were others in the minors but they never suited up for the Original 6)

Ted Lindsay tried to start up the first NHL players union and was subsequently dealt to the hawks for his actions

  2. Ambrose O'Brien - founder of many teams including Montreal Canadiens

Conn Smythe - Owner of Leafs

Frank Calder - 1st NHL president.

  3. Don't forget Patrick Roy and Roggie Vachon who perfected the butterfly.

  4. I will nominate Lester Patrick, Jacques Plante and Andy Bathgate.

  5. Willie O'Ree: first black player in the NHL (Bruins).

Herb Carnegie: better than O'Ree, but different eras and racial ignorance prevented him from playing in the NHL (would've been the Leafs if he could). Founded Junior Aces for underprivileged children (Anson Carter was an Ace).

Cyclone Taylor: first recorded hockey "superstar." (pre-NHL).

  6. Goaltender - Jacques Plante  (mask and wandering from the crease)

Defence - Bobby Orr (sure there were other offensive minded defenders before Orr but he took it to a new level, then there was his use of a player agent, almost unheard of at the time)

Forward - Bernie Geoffrion (perfected the slap shot, earning the name Boom Boom, as well as convincing many more goalies to don facial protection)
