Chipko is not an organization , but a andolan. it was started by women villagers at the foothills of Himalayas under the leadership of Chandi Prasad Bhatt and Sunderlal Bahuguna for the conservation of Himalayan ecology. it further turned its attention to the opposition of construction of tehri dam which was ultimately built and started few years back.The importance of this andolan was the involvement of the local people rather than by any SO called conservationists group. in this both Chandi PRasad and Sunderlal played an important role of cultivating the sense of responsibility among the people. it was a remarkable andolan in the environmentalist campaigns ever carried out in India.

as for ur answer concerning three groups-

1 TARUN BHARAT SANGH, alwar, rajasthan, has forest protection as its motto and played active role in conservation of Sariska forest in Rajasthan, which once used to boast good tiger population, but since last two years there is not a single tiger left  in it.

2 Bombay Natural History Society, Mumbai, Maharashtra, is also an important organization in forest protection. the great ornithologist  Salim Ali was from this organization.

3 WWF as all of us know, World wild life Fund, is a global organization which works for forest conservation and many allied subjects related to it. it has many regional offices all over India.
