  1. opposable thumbs

  2. We have the ability to know right from wrong. We have a higher form of intelligence which gives us  dominance over the animal. We were given this right by God and also have the duty to  be thier caretakers.

  3. Supposed major differences are:  The ability to act consciously rather than instinctively (and dangerously) when appropriate.

The ability to reason through a problem rather than act impulsively and on instinct, a variation on the above

    The ability to create art

In reality i have encountered certain animals that were more disciplined than some humans, would only act impulsively and foolishly rarely, and whose existence itself was a form of art  :))

  4. 1. Language

    2. Opposable thumbs

    3. Walking fully upright as the preferred means of locomotion.

A common answer is both making and using tools, but recent experiments with some birds (crows, IIRC) proved that we are not unique in that regard.

  5. being able to rationalize

eating for pleasure VS eating to survive

being a sexual realationship without the intent to have children

  6. We have emotions

We have the ability to reason

And we do things just for fun and interests sake

    and not just for survival.

  7. we hate without justification

    we show preference in forgiveness

we don't do what we say we are going to do.

  8. Did you know that some animals mourn dead relatives?  I would call that emotion.  As to language, bees can communicate the distance and direction to a particularly good supply of nectar.  Whales and dolphins also communicate.  Did you know that there are some humans who do not walk upright, but rather walk on all four limbs.  Scientists are studying this particular group currently.

Animals learn from other animals.  For example, young learn from mothers about food.  Humans are the only animals (yes, we are animals) who can learn from ancestors we never meet through books!
