12 ANSWERS

  1. PG- Chris Paul  best pg in world still young

SG- Kobe Bryant  will still be very good plus veteran leadership

SF- LeBron James  by 2012 will be worlds best player

PF- Chris Bosh  in 2012 will still be in 20s, was impressive in Bejing

    C- Dwight Howard  best center

Bench: G Deron Williams, G Brandon Roy, G Dwyane Wade, F Kevin Durant, F Michael Beasley, F LaMarcus Aldridge, C Greg Oden

just a quick list off the top of my head but who really knows

  2. Starters

PG Chris Paul- Best true PG in the world

SG Kobe Bryant- He'll be 34 by then and will probably be like Kidd: fewer minutes, more of a leader/clutch player

SF Lebron James- Had a great Olympics, will be the indisputable best player in the world by 2012

PF Amare Stoudamire- Would be my choice if he chooses to play, but Colangelo will probably pick Carmelo Anthony

    C Dwight Howard- Superman!

    Bench

G Dwyane Wade- Easily the best sixth man on the team

G Deron Williams- Second best PG by a little, much better shooter

G Brandon Roy- A versatile combo guard is just what the team needs

F Michael Beasley- A powerful combo forward, will be a star in 4 years

F Carmelo Anthony- The USOC is convinced he can play, I'd rather have Durant or Prince

F Chris Bosh- Really impressive the last two weeks

C Andrew Bynum- Or Greg Oden, but Bynum is a little more versatile; plus, Oden hasn't played a single NBA minute yet

  3. PG Chris Paul

    SG Kobe Bryant

    SF Lebron James

    PF LaMarcus Aldridge

    C Dwight Howard

    Bench

    PG Deron Williams

    SG Rodney Stuckey

    SF Josh Smith

    PF Tayshaun Prince

    C Greg Oden

    Utility

PG/SG Brandon Roy PF/C Al Jefferson

  4. PG: Chris Paul, Derron Williams, Rodney Stuckey

SG: Dwayne Wade, Brandon Roy, Ben Gordon

    SF: LeBron James, Josh Smith

    PF: Chris Bosh, LaMarcus Aldridge

    C: Dwight Howard, Al Horford

Stuckey is a rising star. He's already great at seeing his options, driving to the hoop, changing the tempo, and he's developing into a great man defender. And he already knows how to come off the bench for a winning team.

Gordon is just replacing Redd. Last year, Gordon was finally able to find his own shot. Plus he already knows how to come off the bench and change the tempo. Redd is already becoming increasingly inconsistent and he's starting to fall off the map.

Smith is replacing Prince. He can guard anyone but centers and you can set him up with a shot from anywhere. He's great at everything but dribbling. He is Prince with more athleticism. He'll be able to get back more quickly during the fast breaks that are very popular in the international game.

Aldridge has improved very quickly and should be a star by age 27. Horford is developing into one of the game's best interior defenders.

This team retains the same values as the 2008 team. Great mix of superstars and role players.

  5. PG: Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Derrick Rose

    SG: Dwyane Wade, Kevin Martin

    SF: Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant

PF: Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Michael Beasley

    C: Dwight Howard, Greg Oden

  6. C- Greg Oden (will be dominating the paint by then)

C/F- Dwight Howard(dont have to explain)

F- Lebron James(dont have to explain)

F- Michael Beasley(same reason as Oden)

F- Amare Stoudemire (should have been there this year)

F- Carmelo Anthoney(shouldnt be here, too lazy to play D but oh well)

G- Dwayne Wade(dont have to explain)

G- Kobe Bryant(dont have to explain)

    G- Derrick Rose(hes gonne become a superstar)

G- Deron Williams (dont have to explain)

G- Adam Morrison- can shoot the 3, and I think he gets healthy and becomes a USA guard

G- Chris Paul(dont have to explain)

    Guys left out were-

Jason Kidd- getting old, wont be there in 12

Chris Bosh- With Oden and Beasley becoming superstars, wont be needed

Carlos Boozer- same reason as Bosh

Michael Redd- although a killer 3 point shooter, he didnt do much this year

Tayshaun Prince- plays good, but hes underrated, doubt he will be there again, since Stoudemire is there now

  7. PG-CP3

    SG-Brandon Roy

    SF-Lebron

    PF-Carmelo

    C-Howard

    Bench

    -Wade

    -Oden

    -Deron

    -Mayo

    -Bosh

    A few more

I don't see why everyone thinks they will totally change it around.  In 4 years most those players are still younger than Redd or Kobe were.  They are the best and will continue to get better.

Also, why is everyone discounting what Carmelo did for the team?  Every player on USA Basketball has said what a great addition he has been to the team the past 4 years, and that the defense had become contagious and he was playing GREAT defense.

  8. whoooo london 2012

  9. USA Olympic Squad

    Chris Paul/Rodney Stuckey/Deron Williams

    Dwyane Wade/OJ Mayo/Brandon Roy

    LeBron James/Kevin Durant

    Carmelo Anthony/Michael Beasley

    Dwight Howard/Greg Oden

Just Missed The Cut: Derrick Rose/Al Jefferson/Jerryd Bayless/Chris Bosh

Getting Too Old: Kobe Bryant/Jason Kidd/Tayshaun Prince/Carlos Boozer

    1. Chris Paul - Best PG in 2012

    2. Rodney Stuckey - Will take over Billups' spot and excel greatly

    3. Deron Williams - Second best PG

    4. Dwyane Wade - When healthy seems to be perfect for the Olympics

    5. OJ Mayo - Looks to be a future perrenial all-star

    6. Brandon Roy - Same as Dwyane Wade, will connect with Oden

    7. LeBron James - Will only be 28 at Olympics..nuff said

    8. Kevin Durant - Perfect back-up for James

    9. Carmelo Anthony - Seems to be the star and leader of team

    10. Michael Beasley - Great energy and could me match-up h**l

    11. Dwight Howard - Most dominant big-man in the game today

    12. Greg Oden - Defense, Blocks, Rebounds, Dirty Work, Intimidation

  10. PG: Chris Paul / Deron Williams / Derrick Rose

SG: Dwyane Wade / Kevin Martin

SF: King James / Carmelo Anthony / Kevin Durant

PF: Chris Bosh / Michael Beasley

C: Dwight Howard / Greg Oden

I like Stuckey but he looks to score too much.  LeBron and Wade have that covered so I chose Rose who I think is more versatile and would be able to fill the shoes of Williams and Paul if one gets hurt.

I like Kevin Martin because he can shoot and without him, the team might be an even worse shooting team than this year’s.  By the way, I’m confused on why a lot of people are not including Wade.  If it wasn’t for his 21 points in the first half against Spain they would have been down at half.  Brandon Roy is a close third here.

I really hope James plays.  Carmelo was an important part of the team but I don’t really like him either.  Still he played defense; something he never does for Denver.  I think Durant is also an obvious choice and he could be more important that Melo.

Chris Bosh is another one people are leaving out.  He played better than Howard in the Olympics.  I guess not everyone was watching.  I would let Beasley and Josh Smith battle it out for that spot.  I think Beasley would win.

The centers are obvious, if Oden is healthy.  I’m assuming he is.  If not than Bosh can play center and Smith would be added to the team.

  11. PG-Paul

    SG-Mayo

    SF-Durant

    PF-Lebron

    C-Howard

    Reserves

    Williams

    Bayless

    Beasley

    Rose

I just don't know about the bigs but its almost a certainty that Kobe will not be there because by that time he will already be 34 years old and its time to give others a chance and with Wade its probably 50-50 because he'll be 30 years old by then and considering the toll that his style of play take on his body. Lebron will be there to be the veteran and elder statesman for the team.

In general, the program will start all over again, new start, new players, and mostly they want younger guys so that when olympic time comes around they'll be prepared just like the 2006-2008 program.

  12. pg  cp3

    sg  kobe

    sf   king lames

    pf   michael beasley

    c    dwight howard

    reserves:

    d wade

    carmelo

    greg oden

    derrick rose

    chris bosh

    deron williams

    kevin durant

replacing kidd, boozer, prince and redd with oden, beasley, rose and durant paves the way for US domination for the next generation. You cannot argue that this is the most athletic team ever assembled and would easily be the most entertaing squad ever. As far as shooting goes which im sure would be the obvious complaint about my team, all i can say is that with four more years of experience i expect lbj, cp3, kobe, durant, wade, williams and rose will all be vastly improved.
