  1. my team-the stars, well we traded for Richards (I know not offseason, but that was a really big move), signed Avery, which I dont dislike or like yet, wait and see i guess. we didnt resign any of our forwards-Hagman, MIettenin, Barnes, but Im okay with all of those with the exeption of Barnes, but he is probably retiring so nothing the team could do about that.

    so I say a good offseason :P

  2. Chicago Blackhawks

very pleased- signed Campbell (he's going to kill on the same line as Keith) so we officially have the 2 fastest D-men in the NHL, signed Cristobal Huet for goalie, a position we needed, and named Jonathan Toews Captain.  Not to mention the Fan Convention and organizing the Winter Classic in January.

Gonna be a pretty exciting year in Chicago hockey!!

  3. My team- Leafs

uhh... they did ok. I mean I'm not crazy over what they did. They got rid of a bunch of players. I guess thats good. They got a few amazing defence and thats pretty good for us. um... they got Nicklas Hagman... I heard he is a great scorrer. Hopefully the Leafs are making the right moves for the long run!

  4. Wild - Right now I would say bad, but I would be willing to change if they extend Butch and Gabby and lock up Burns.

  5. red wings-good stuf

lightning-barry melrose, olaf kolzig, gary roberts, ryan mallone, doesn't get any better

  6. New York Rangers (current team)-

I think they did GREAT, alot of people are skeptical, but they got younger and deeper adding Zherdev, Nasland, Fritzche, Redden, Kallinin, and more. I think they will resign Shanny, (he said the Rangers are the only team he's talking to.)

    Their lineup looks strong...

    Nasland, Gomez, and Zherdev

    Drury, Shannahan, and Dubinsky

should all be in the 20's goals wise and Roszival, Redden, Girardi, Kallinin, Mara and Staal make their defensive corps one of the strongest in the East.

Tampa Bay (new team, moving 15 minutes from Arena)-

Lecavalier, St. Louis, Prospal, Malone, Recchi, Roberts, Jokinen, Stamkos, Vrbata, and Halpbern make a VERY strong offensive team. Add Carle, Ranger, Picard, and Kuba on Defense and they are not terrible.

Goaltending, I think adding Kolzig was BRILLIANT. Smith is talented and has alot of potential, adding a solid backup with tons of experience allows the Lightning to rest Smith and/or provide relief for him if he goes through a rough stretch.

  7. Avalanche - grade is an F.

$12 Million under the cap and they can't find $2.75 million to pay Brunette.  Instead they sign the Toronto Maple Leaf cast-offs.  Seriously, if the Leafs don't want Tucker and Raycroft you have to ask yourself if you should be signing them.

But hey, it's not like owners didn't spend the money.  They just spent it on the Nuggets instead.

  8. Detroit Red Wings. Their record speaks for itself. I am from Michigan after all.

  9. Devils - I think Rolston and Holik were really smart acquisitions - They're veteran players who know Devils hockey.  They can help out the yonger players like Zajac and Parise, and bring good leadership.  The two have had experience on other teams, and that will totally help next season.

The Lightning did pretty well - Malone, Prospal, Roberts...

The Blackhawks too - Campbell, Huet, etc.

  10. My team-Bruins

I thought they did pretty good so far for the cap space. Was hoping for Hossa, but they'd have to overpay him a ton, so they got a good guy for a fair price. Plus they signed Blake Wheeler, good good move.

  11. I think the Sabres made a good move by signing Ryan Miller to a 5-year deal.

My team: NY Islanders. - Ehh they've done some pretty bad things. I think firing Ted Nolan was a bad choice. However, they did sign Mark Streit and Doug Weight, which is OK I guess. =/

  12. Sabres

    Grade: B

Rivet is a good upgrade. Giving up Bernier's not a huge loss. Lalime is an upgrade over Thaibault and we locked up Miller today (5yr 31.25mil)

  13. San Jose:

I think it was a good offseason.  There wasn't a great chance of signing Campbell anyways, and he had his mind pretty set on going back east.  Defense was the weakness of the Sharks the past few seasons, and they didn't have a true offensive defenseman which Boyle is.  Blake adds veteran leadership that you lose in Rivet.

Basically the Sharks switched Campbell, Carle, and Rivet for Blake, Boyle, and Lukowich.  I think that's an upgrade.

The Sharks also held onto Pavelski(solid 2nd line player, best shootout player on team), Shelley(made the whole team tougher on the ice it seemed), Ehrhoff(good overall defenseman, can do it on either end), Roenick(great leadership and veteran presence to team), and Boucher(gives Nabokov a little more rest).

  14. Islanders- Raised Islanders fans hopes by signing Mark Streit to a 4 year deal on first day of free agency.

Then they sat back as usual and did nothing until they

destroyed my enthusiasm by signing Doug Weight - How does he help the "Youth Movement?" Will they form a new line of Weight, Sillinger, and Guerin and call it The Social Security Line?

I hat that Garth "Mike Milbury" Snow forced Nolan out.  Only good thing is Garth Flurries won't have a scapegoat anymore.

Overall: D+: What else is new?

Best? I think Edmonton and Detroit did well.
