Can a single, unmarried, never been married before man with no kids be one of the named insured listed on an automobile insurance policy? Can a single, unmarried, never been married before man with no kids be named by himself and no one else on an auto insurance policy?

Can anyone own car insurance regardless of their marital status?

  1. Anyone can be insured if they have a car titled in their name.  Marital status isn't an issue...it could provide additional discounts for a young married male, but other than that, he should be eligible for a policy as long as he hasn't had any major traffic felonies, etc.

And yes, he can also be listed by himself, as long as he lives alone.

  2. Marital status is completely irrelevant.

The named insured needs to read exactly as the registration, title, and loan read.  So sure, one man can own, register, title, and insure a car, as the named insured.
