  1. Without stating the obvious, you can change her name if she is really that unhappy via deed poll through the local court house, births, deaths or marriages office or council chambers. It costs around $100 or so. But most people don't really like their names (I know some do) and wish that they had a different one.

  2. I don't really like that name, sorry! I don't like when people name kids after months exccept April,  May and June!

  3. It does sound very unusual, but there are girls named April and May so it's not totally "out there".  I think it would be nice for your daughter to maybe choose her own name.  If you sat down with her (and Dad?) and asked her if she really wants to change her name and make sure she's doing it for the right reasons.  You wouldn't even need to do it officially, maybe decide on a name and let the school know that is what she wishes to be called from now on.  See how that goes and if it sticks then maybe consider changing it officially.

  4. its no fun to be teased but kids are crule, have her choose a nick name she can go by like dezzi or bre or ember, let her use that name at school, it might help her to define herself.

my child gets teased because her hair is curly kids will find any thing, Im going to straighten it tomorrow, thats all we can do, is help to make it better.

  5. It's definately different. Kids can be mean, unfortunately. They will always find something they don't like about another child. When she grows up I'm sure she'll love that her name is so unique.

  6. its stupid, whatever happened to normal names, everybody is naming there kids stupid names and then wonder why they get made fun of.

  7. I have an unique name too - Cherish - yes i was teased at school over it but that only lasted for a little while, as the other kids got use to it and I got use to them saying 'mean' things about me - it didnt phase me after a while - i use to even finish off what they were saying bcoz i had heard the same comments a million times, even some of the teachers use to comment about my name (sing the song/s) - she should be thankful she doesnt have to spell her name out every time someone needs to write it down lol  - I am 26 now and have no bad feelings against my parents for choosing such a unique name for me

  8. That's a pretty cool name actually.

Find people with unique names like "Wednesday Adams or Apple"  and let her know that she is not the only name.

It's better than names that are overused.

Don't feel bad. If it's not her name it will be her clothes.

Kids are superficial. When they mature a little they will appreciate it.

  9. yeah, i like it!

i don't like it when names are too common, there are like 10 Emilys in my school, but only 2 Bryants.

  10. december was a pretty radical move there.  But she will leanr to appreciate it.  Tell her that celebrity kids ave unique names.  Didnt nicole kidman name her kid apple?

  11. What we think about her name isn't important.  What your daughter thinks is very important.

Names DO matter.  They can set a person up for a lifetime of teasing.

You CAN change her name if you want.http://www.uslegalforms.com/changeofname...  If the name December is making her miserable, I would urge you to consider doing so.

  12. too late now, but it's neat

  13. yes you did. Did you not think through how she would have to live with her name? December is a month, not a name. It is like calling your kid Apple.
