  1. I like

Upmarket is Cerveceria catalana, corner of Rambla Catalunya and Mallorca.

    Very busy so go early.

Down market. Bar Celta C/ Merce (sort of in the block between Via Leytana and Colon near the sea.

Better later at night. There are lots of grubby looking bars in this area. I used to eat hear regularly without any problems other than colesterol.

  2. Just wander off the main Ramblas and find the real spanish ones, they will not be fancy, but they will all be good. No matter where I have been travelling, I always dive off the main routes and explore the side streets, thats where all the best bars and cafes are

  3. Sorry to disappoint! There are no authentic tapas bars in Barcelona!!

Tapas started in Almeria/Andalusia and were normally just a couple of salty olives, to make drinking people even more thirsty, so they would drink more.

Now they are still for free in Granada and other southern cities, a big variety of food. Barcelona just adopted tapas, to make money from tourists, they are at some places expensive.

  4. You just have to go to the Taverna del Born.

Address: Passeig del Born 27, 08003 Barcelona

Food is amazing and the prices are good too.

    Fab Fab Fab.

My mate lives in Barcelona and we always go there when I visit.
