Names of the Mermaid Sisters?

What do you think of Ariel and her sister's name?

(Watching Ariel's Beginning, haha)

Andrina

Aquata

Arista

Alana

Their mother was Athena.

Only ones I personally like are Ariel and Arista. And I like Athena.

I like Athena. No one will mess with a girl named Athena. Not Aquata, sounds like another name for water-birth.

Their names sound awfully ridiculous when you sing them together.  "Oh, we are the daughters of Triton..."

Individually, like Ariel (though I probably wouldn't use it on a daughter because of its heavy Disney-overtones), Adella, and Athena.

Aquata is a full-out mermaid name; it would have no hope of working on a real human.  Alana is pretty, but a bit boring.  Arista, though a legitimate Latin name, sound too much like a snooty blonde with fake nails -- rather like Trista from "The Bachelorette."  Attina and Andrina sound like over-elaborated variant names (of Tina and Andrea, perhaps).  

I think I am somewhat prejudiced against these names because they occur in the song.  Taken all together, they seem like gimmicky, unimaginative copycat names.  I hadn't even realized the beautiful Adela was among them -- the name sounds totally cheesy in the song, but it's lovely on its own.

P.S.  I used to think Alana's name was "A-nonna."  I always thought she had gotten the worst name of the bunch!

And Alexis is a stand alone name, if it's short it's short for a Roman name Alexus with a U.
