Namibia Under-19s v Zimbabwe Under-19s – ICC Under-19 World Cup (Warm-Up Match) – Match Update
Curthbert Musoko’s 4-wicket haul, followed by a century stand between openers Kevin Kasuza and Luke Masasire, enabled the Zimbabwe Under-19s to clinch a 7-wicket win over the Namibia Under-19s during their http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Under-19 World Cup warm-up match at the Ron McMullin Oval in Buderim today on August 7.
Namibia won the toss and opted to bat first, with skipper Wian http://www.senore.com/Cricket/André-Odendaal-c44255, however, did not allow the openers to dig their heels in, dismissing them both by the 10th over, and finishing with figures of 5-2-15-2.
Number 3 batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/January-Jackowiak-c66372 Coetzee (8) remained unremarkable, but Stephen Baard, who followed, top scored for his side with 36. Musoko (who finished with figures of 10-2-42-4) claimed the next 3 scalps – Coetzee was bowled in the 13th over, followed by Malan Kruger (1) who was caught out by Peacemore Zimwa in the 17th over, and Stephen Baard in the 21st, caught by Odendaal.
By this point, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Namibia-c2964 were at 71 for 5, and the remainder of the batting order chipped in with small contributions to get the total up to 180, chief among them Gerhard Erasmus (15), Justin Baard (22), Zhivago Groenewald (31*), and Christopher Coombe (24).
The 181-run chase, however, posed no problems for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045’s batting order. Openers Kasuza (63) and Masasire (52) established a solid start for their side, putting down a 112-run foundation for the rest of the batting order to build upon.
Namibia manage a breakthrough in the 17th over, with Masasire run out by Luke http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bolton-c48217, and Kasuza followed him to the pavilion in the 22nd over, dismissed, lbw, by Stephen Baard.
Number three batsman Luke Jongwe chipped in with a 27-run contribution before he was caught out by Stephen Baard off Groenewald in the 32nd over. The next duo up to bat comprised skipper Matthew Bentley (11*) and Ryan Burl (11*), both of whom managed to remain not out and steer their side to 181.
Zimbabwe ended by claiming a 7-wicket victory, reaching their target at the expense of 3 wickets, by the 34th over, with 98 deliveries remaining.
