The 40th match of the ongoing ICC World Cricket League Championship, 2011-2013 was won by Netherlands against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Namibia-c2964 by one wicket, at Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek.
After winning the toss, the Dutch chose to field first in a bid to halt the opposition on a small total, but were manhandled by Namibian openers RAH Pitchers and R http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Robert-Cowdrey-c60631 Schoor, who launched an aggressive batting onslaught right from the get go. The two batsmen
exhibited tremendous form as they smacked the bowlers everywhere without a hint of remorse.
It was finally after conceding 104 runs that the fielding side tasted their first success of the day when Pitchers was run out after bolstering a brilliant knock of 48 runs off 85 deliveries.
Later with 114 on the board, the batting side lost their second wicket on the demise of SJ Baard, who was also run out after hitting just four runs off the bat.
At this point, the Dutch were beginning to show some signs of resurgence as they grabbed another wicket when CG http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Williams-c98034 was dismissed after he had scored nine runs. At the time of this wicket, Namibia had managed to reach 136 runs.
Then with 148 on the board they lost their fourth wicket of the day when skipper SF Burger was trapped in front of stumps after scoring only seven runs. The rapid demise of batsmen brought a decline in the scoring rate which was enough to put Netherlands
on the top.
With R van Schoor unbeaten on 93 and NRP Scholtz on 51, the batting side managed to post a modest score of 236 on the board.
Netherlands had a shaky start to their innings, losing their first wicket with only 22 on the board. However, the second wicket partnership between SJ Myburgh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/W-Barresi-c2773 led the side towards 105 runs.
Finally the batting side lost their second wicket on the demise of W Barresi, who was clean-bowled by Williams after smacking a potent knock of 58 runs.
In the latter half of the innings, Namibia made a strong comeback, but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DLS-van-Bunge-c1385 fine knock of 60 runs was enough to help his side cross the finish line in 48 overs.
