The first match of the ICC World Cricket League Africa Region Division One Twenty20 (T20) took place between Namibia and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nigeria-c2970 at the Kyambogo Cricket Ground, in Kampala, on July 9, 2011.

The bout between Namibia and Nigeria took off after the later won the toss and chose to bat.

The batting duo brought in an aggressive start to the day after scoring an adequate total for the side. However, by the end of the first quarter of the Namibian session, the team lost its opening batsman, Westhuizen.

It was the skipper who had to return after being caught out on Olalekan Awolowo’s delivery. Williams played an impressive innings of 92 runs, falling just 8 runs off earning a century. The captain’s aggregate included 11 boundaries and 3 sixes.
The same over brought another wicket for the Nigerians, as new on the crease batter, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gerrie-Snyman-c59913, was again, caught out on Awolowo’s delivery.
By the time the batting side lost its 3rd wicket, Namibia had aggregated an impressive sum of 156 runs from 12.4 overs.
As the session proceeded, the Namibian side lost another 3 players; however, by the end of the innings, the team had managed to score a competitive total of 232 runs with a loss of 6 wickets.

Yet again, the pair could not last long as Wian van Vuuren secured Gill’s wicket on a Leg before Wicket appeal.
Gill’s loss came as the 5th wicket for Namibians in the 14th over of the innings. By now, the Nigerian batsmen had only scored a disappointing total of 58 runs.
The Nigerian side finally went down in the final over of the day, which marked the first win for the Namibian side.
