Namiki Ueda grabs Girls 200m breaststroke title – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Namiki Ueda of Itoman grabbed gold medal of the Girls 200m breaststroke on day three of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Sunday, September 23.
Ueda spoiled the party of her competitors by dominating the playoff of the distant breaststroke discipline. With her relentless efforts, she stayed absolutely trouble free throughout the race and secured the crown of the four-lap discipline.
Her impeccable pace coupled with her fastest dive, played a vital part in her victory as she cemented her place on top of the victory stand for gold medal.
Ueda enjoyed lead of two and a half body length over her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing blockade for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 32.36 seconds.
The champion was followed by Mizuki Nishioka of Itoman, who stayed 2.62 seconds apart and tapped the wall for silver medal by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 34.98 seconds.
Nishioka was traced by Emily M Kopas of NCSA, who remained lucky enough to secure third position. Kopas remained 0.71 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing end as third position holder by reporting a time of 2 minutes
and 35.69 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Waka Yujiri of Itoman, who stayed only 0.36 seconds apart and settled on the wall by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 36.05 seconds.
Subsequently, fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Katherine G Drabot of NCSA, who remained 1.91 seconds slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 37.96 seconds.
Drabot enjoyed a benefit of almost four seconds over Riley O Scott of NCSA, who secured sixth place of the event by touching the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 42.17 seconds.
Rika Omoto was disqualified from the playoff due to an improper start and failed to secure any position.
Furthermore, Ueda was overjoyed with her gold finish in the event and collected medal at the victory ceremony.
