Do you like the trend of replacing the regular spelling of a name with a slightly different spellings. I'm think mainly of replacing an "i" with a "y" or adding "lynn/lan" to a regular boy spelling.

Rylan

Kyler

Sylas

Ashlynn

Myles

Lynis

  1. No.  Tryndee is stupid and illegitimate.  It might seem "cutesy" but how dumb does a Doctor Kaeylynne look?

  2. ugh i hate the Y thing...people think its cute or sophisticated but its not.

  3. oh i hate it too........spell it the proper way, please.

  4. I like the name Myles a lot.

I don't like any of the other ones though. Ashlynn is way too girly looking to be a boy's name. Lynis reminds me of the character from Peanuts.

  5. NO I ABSOLUTELY H.A.T.E IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO INCREDIBLY ANNOYING AND STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  6. No, I think it can ruin a perfectly good name. It is flakey. Kyler? Really it sounds like a drunk trying to say Tyler. Ashlynn for a boy - with a y no less?!

  7. I think Rylan, Kyler, and Ashlynn are cute but the others look ridiculous.

  8. I hate it with a passion.  It is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.  If you have a girl, you will probably name her something Mykynzy.  Honestly, give your child a normal name.

when I say you, I don't mean you personally, but the people who do stupid stuff like that.

  9. Rylan is the cutest

    Ashlynn is a girls name.........

    i know 3!!!

  10. no usually i do not like alternative spellings. i do like Kyler, Rylan, and Ashlynn.

  11. yer if you want the name to be different then its ok but some people have trouble spelling them correctly

  12. I personally don't like the whole replacing the regular spelling of the name thing.  When pronounced the name sounds exactly the same, and your name is something you are called and hear mostly.  Having a different spelling just means your child will grow up having to spell his name out all the time and receive letters with the wrong (or correct, depends how you look at it) spelling all the times.  Just choose a name you llike the sound of and don't worry about the spelling.  That said I do like the name Rylan and Silas.
