Naming of 2008 State of Origin team.?

I see where WA named a 2008 State of Origin team & It was announced last night at a gala club dinner. I know there is not going to be a SofO carnival this year but it would still be an honour to be named in such a team.

Have any of the other states named a similar team this year - that you know of?

  1. I don't know of any other state who have

announced a state team. Surely the teams would

have been plastered about the media if they had.

The WA team has a few Collingwood players in the team.

I didn't know they had som many interstaters.

  2. It doesn't look like anyone knows the answer to your question.

    Anyway here is the team selected;

B: Hayden (FRE) Glass (WCE) Ryder (ESS)

HB: Michael Johnson (FRE) McPharlin (FRE) Hargrave (WB)

C: Embley (WCE) Black (BRI - Capt) Corey (GEE)

HF: Lockyer (COL) Lynch (WCE) Medhurst (COLL)

F: Davis (COLL) Franklin (HAW) Sandilands (FRE)

Ruck: Cox (WCE) Kerr (WCE) Cassissi (POR)

I/C: Palmer (FRE), Van Berlo (ADE) Bateman (HAW), Wells (NTH)

    Coach: Laidley (NTH)

    Umpire: Brett Rosebury

It does not look over strong to me. Even I would not put money on them to beat the Vics or the Croweaters if they selected a team.

  3. Im really proud of the eagles, there are about 5 or so in the side!! Especially Quinten Lynch (WCE - he is in the forward line) my favourite player, and i discovered that so many players were from wa! especially leon davis, what an amazing wa boy that plays for collingwood!

  4. How about all those boys plying for Vic clubs happen to "miss there family" in perth and all join the eagles!!

    Sounds good to me :)
