What would you do if your live in nanny was making international calls during her working hours without ur permission ?

she is allowed to use the phone to call the Philippines and i dont ask her to pay her bill bcoz she is taking a good care of my 9 months baby ,but when i was checking my mobile LOG today I've noticed that she's making calls during my absence and she delete the history from the dialled option on the phone ! she denied when i asked her when am sure about it .. she lied to me !

What should I say to her? i feel she is not honest , i want to let her go , am afraid give her the baby i dont trust her anymore

  1. Maybe try a nanny cam to see what else goes on in the house while you're gone. If she's mistreating your child, there's obviously something to worry about and should be fired right away,  but if she's just making calls while the baby is asleep, that's fine. I don't understand when you expect her to use your phone to make international calls. Only when you're there? I think it's perfectly normal for her to talk on the phone when you're not there. It is odd that she'd delete the calls from the history and lie to you about this. Maybe she didn't want you to know how long she was talking. If she is talking too long on your phone and making your bill too high, talk to her about that, and maybe let her know that you are able to check the calls and stop lying.

  2. Well since she lied about it I would let her go because you can't trust her. How do you know if the baby was asleep during this time or if she was just not paying attention. Since she deleted it from the history she knew what she was doing was wrong and is being deceitful. I wouldn't be able to trust her either.

  3. If she lied to you about that (and it's so minor) -- what else would she lie about?

I wouldn't be able to trust her. And trust is very very important in that job. So I would let her go.

  4. Well i see as that if she is doing a great job with your son what would be the harm in calling home or were ever if he is napping or something as long as she does not neglect her duties with your son

  5. r u Filipino? please fire her now if she still comes 2 you!! that happened 2 us but it's worst....when i was a child and in the philippines we have a babysitter when my aunt goes somewhere the babysitter don't even take care of me...instead she ask me to do the things she has 2 do...then the babysitter owed my aunt 7000pesos...she didn't pay for it she left the house and never came back...we didn't call the police...but we found her in pangasinan...then we told her that we will call the police if she pay the 7000 pesos she owe us...so she payed for it!!

  6. I am a nanny for a family I have been with for 14 years. I think because you asked her and she lied and you say you are sure you have a problem. You cannot trust someone who lies to you. You said yourself that you don't trust her anymore. I think there really isn't a question that you will have to let her go. Id tell her exactly how you feel. that you are letting her go for mistrust plain and simple. I would never have lied to my bosses.

  7. You should talk to her and asked why she is not asking for permission to call overseas via Philippines. She cannot lie because you have the bills. If she wants to pay or deduct that or her Salary or something.

Tell her that you do not want to be rude or something, Don't be afraid your are the boss and you are paying her for taking care of your Baby.

I can speak tagalog... I don't like how she acts, you should confront her you know.

  8. Wow, I am only 16 but I would fire her on the spot.

    1. For lying to you in your face.

    2. Going behind your back, then trying to hide it...

So ya, I would not trust her any longer. That's from my view of things.
