Nans Turbo wins BEST PRICES AT CORAL.CO.UK STANDARD at Romford on Jan 18
The BEST PRICES AT CORAL.CO.UK STANDARD was won by Nans Turbo, at Romford on Wednesday evening, January 18, 2012.
The 400 metre long Grade Open Race (OR) started off at 19:40 (local time), and there were six hounds running for the cash prize of £500.
Nans Turbo, the son of Crash out of Ballyguiry Jodie, was holding the odds of 11 to 4, slightly lower than the favourite, Ten Large Down’s starting price of 7 to 4.
The black dog, however, ran brilliantly throughout the contest, covering the preset area in 24.06 seconds. E A Gaskin’s trainee went away early on, but subsequently enhanced his pace to beat, Money Ball, by three lengths.
The runner-up began the show from fifth stand, carrying the winning chances of 9 to 2. The black and white dog, Premier Fantasy’s son out of Crazy Jane, reached the winning post in 24.30 seconds.
Although, Money Ball could not challenge the winner, he outplayed the third position hound by 5 ¼ lengths.
The third place belonged to Pennys Toby, whelped by Crash out of Droopys Texas in September, 2009. After slowly going away, he took 24.72 seconds to arrive at the final point. His winning possibility was 4 to 1, as the brindle dog set off his run from
the third trap.
Ten Large Down, the favourite hound, could only manage to finish fourth on the chart. Royal Impact’s son out of Honey Princess crossed the wire in 24.76 seconds, failing to end up among top-3 by half a length.
The last two places respectively went to Oscars Blurr, and Blackstone Bob – the duo with the winning chances of 7 to 1 each.
Oscars Blurr, the son of Montos Carhumore out of Umeras Pride, clocked the area in 24.96 seconds, beating the Back Marker by two and half lengths. Blackstone Bob, the last in the list, could not complete his run after leaving sixth stand.
After sealing two back-to-back victories earlier last month, Nans Turbo remained a bit unlucky during previous four races.
However, the hound has returned strongly, and justified his status as one of the top hounds in the town.
