Reports in French media claim that Ligue 2 entertainers, FC Nantes could soon be rubbing shoulders with the big boys of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 as rich investors from Qatar look to buy them
Despite an immensely talented squad, FC Nantes might yet against start a third consecutive season in Ligue 2 which is hurting for the fans and everyone associated with the club.
Owner, Waldemar Kita is certainly not a popular figure at the club based in the Loire-Atlantique region. Fans are asking for the head of the Polish business tycoon who hasn’t really done much for the club.
In 2007, Kita bought the club for just 10 million Euros. However, the president didn’t have much impact. A few years back, Kita saw the team he owns, relegated to Ligue 2. This was a sickening blow for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723 who had a young and competitive squad which
many expected to reach new heights.
The situation is certainly difficult for the fans who have never experienced such turbulent times since the club came into existence back in 1943.
Aware that he will need money, the Franco-Polish businessman is now looking for new shareholders. However, Kita is not looking to sell the club, but rather to open the capital. And according to L’Equipe, the Pole has travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 where he met former
adviser for Le Mans, Xavier http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Moulin Thuillot.
“I saw him, first because I was looking for an executive director, and then, when he told me he was trying to gather investors for the purchase of clubs. I want to open my capital but I want to see the heads of these potential investors.”
However, reports claim that former sulphur magnet and current chairman of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-Club-c40301 de Strasbourg, Jafar Hilali is keen on taking over the club. the Qatari billionaire has been in vague talks with Kita since 2011 and might even convince the unpopular Pole
to leave the club for good.
Nantes won the Ligue 1 Championelle twice and were a stronghold of French football in the late 60s and late 70s. However, the club’s fall from grace has changed things drastically so maybe, a new owner should solve the problems that the current owner failed
to.
