Naperville North boys volleyball team defeat West Aurora by 3-0 on Thursday
Thursday evening turned out to be one of celebration for the Naperville North boys volleyball team.
Naperville was up against the West Aurora team and were able to emerge as victors over their rivals. Naperville was successful in winning the DuPage Valley boys volleyball match by handing out a defeat to West Aurora in three back to back sets.
Not only was Naperville able to make a clean sweep, they did so by leaving no doubt of their superiority over West Aurora. The final set scores that declared a Naperville win stood at 25-18, 23-25, 25-18.
With their recent win, the Huskies have been able to improve both their overall season record as well as the conference play record. In this season so far, the Huskies have had an impressive number of 10 victories.
These wins have been bagged after the Huskies registered defeats that totalled three in all. Although the number of matches that the Huskies have played until this point are far less than the overall season ones, the statistics that the conference play record
reflect are no less commendable.
With winning two matches in the conference play, the Huskies stand undefeated.
As opposed to the Huskies, both the overall season as well as the conference play record of the Blackhawks falls pale. However, it is not something that the Blackhawks should be disappointed about.
The number of wins that the Blackhawks have been able to tally in this season so far equals the amount of five. In contrast to this, they have experienced losses that add up to two. The conference play record of the Black Hawks show wins that equal the amount
of 1. These have been registered at the expense of one loss.
The start of the first set of the match saw both the teams plunge head on in the struggle to gain and maintain dominance of the court.
However, as the set progressed, the Huskies started to establish their superiority. As they increased in confidence, the Blackhawks started having a tough time keeping up. As a result, the first set of the match went the way of the Huskies at 25-18.
The Blackhawks were able to put up some competition in the second set of the match. They rallied themselves together and put up a good fight.
Despite the fact that they were able to take the score close, the Huskies still succeeded in sealing the deal at 25-23. The third set of the match also went the way of the Huskies at 25-18.
“We kind of lulled ourselves (during the second game Thursday night against West Aurora),” outside hitter Spencer Sauter said. “That is something we have struggled with since the start of the season. In the third game we were a little ticked off—extra motivation.”
