Napoli President Laurentiis never doubted Hamsik’s loyalty and open to Lavezzi sale: Serie A news
Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has revealed that he never doubted the loyalty of midfielder, Marek Hamsik, towards the club.
Hamsik was subject of intense interest from Italian Champions, A.C Milan, but Laurentiis made it clear that he will not let his prized asset leave for anything less than 100-million-Euros. The huge price tag swept away Milan’s interest and the President has admitted that the Slovakian is a huge member of his squad.
Laurentiis said that he was always sure that Hamsik would stay at Stadio Olimpico Rome and he wants to win the UEFA Champions League with the club. However, the chief refused to make any promises and insisted that the team will fight hard to win all trophies next season.
Talking to the reporters Laurentiis said, “See that? Others wanted to sow the seeds of poison in our midst, but I never doubted Hamsik wanted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. I knew he wanted to win the Champions League with us. I don’t make promises I can’t follow through with.”
However, the President did not rule out the sale of influential winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073, and confirmed that if any team wants to buy him, they will have to meet the €32m buy-out clause. Lavezzi has attracted interest from English sides, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur and the former was believed to be in a pole position to sign the Argentine international.
Laurentiis confirmed that he will welcome the attacker from international duty next month and will be more than happy if he commits himself to the Azzurri.
“Lavezzi will return from international duty on August 4 and we welcome him with open arms. If he wants to stay, then we will be very happy, otherwise we’ll sign someone even stronger than he is.” Laurentiis said
The President hinted that his team’s summer shopping is over, as manager, Walter Mazzarri, wants no more than 22 players in his squad. Napoli have added several new players to the squad and are eagerly looking forward to play in their first UEFA Champions League season in 21 years.
