The Lecce head coach was giving his opinion on their upcoming match against the Partenopei and felt that his side will be in for a real battle on Wednesday.
With the season coming to an end, there is pressure on all the teams in contention of something to play for, to perform to the best of their abilities. The clash between
Napoli and Lecce will be a cracker of a match as the two teams have a lot to play for. What is interesting to note is that the two teams are fighting for two different dreams altogether.
Having exceeded all expectations in this year’s UEFA Champions League, Walter Mazzarri’s men will be looking for another shot at the premier competition of European clubs.
However, despite their brilliant form in the Champions League and their qualification into the final of the Coppa Italia, the Azzurri’s form in the league has suffered. Mazzarri’s men won their first match in their last six matches with the week 34 fixture
victory over Attilio Tesser’s Novara.
Cosmi warned that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 were not finished and still had a lot in their tank. He further went on to state that Lecce would approach the match with caution and are under
no delusions on the quality of the Napoli squad. He remarked in his interview:
“Even if Napoli are not at the top of their form, they still have what it takes to cause us problem. They seem to be on their way back up now and are still in the fight
for third place. It is going to be a very tough game tomorrow against a strong opponent.”
Lecce have been in splendid form in the past month and a half and have closed the gap between them and safety. Momentum is with Cosmi’s side, as they got a point out of
the third placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775, who have been ruthless of late.
“Without doubt going six games unbeaten is a wonderful run and I had hoped to get these results with such quality football. There is satisfaction, but at the end of the
day the table still says we’re third from bottom.”
Lecce are a point adrift of Genoa, and will do themselves great favour if they manage to secure a victory against the Partenopei.
