The Dolphins President has cooled speculation over the young midfielder’s imminent move to the Bianconeri, and has stressed that the Partenopei are also closing in for the midfielder.
Napoli have joined the race for Marco Verratti, and according to Pescara President, stand on equal terms with the Bianconeri on acquiring the services of the budding star.
The Biancazzurri midfielder was thought to be on the verge of signing a deal with the Old Lady, in which the player was supposed to be loaned back to the Delfini for one last season with the newly promoted club.

President Daniele Sebastiani revealed that the Partenopei have also joined the contention for the budding star. The Dolphins chief went on to disclose that the Bianconeri and the Azzurri stand equal in the quality of players that they have offered to Pescara, and stressed that he has little reason for now to prefer one over the other.
While talking to Radio Crc, the Delfini patron said:
“With Napoli there is contact over a deal. From the moment that the players they offer in part-exchange are not less than those from Juventus, then we have no reason to sell to Juventus.”
Sebastiani revealed that Juventus were the first to approach the club for Verratti, and admitted that the Old Lady has certain advantages in the negotiations for the player.
The Dolphins chief stated that the Bianconeri and Napoli were not the only two interested in the player, but revealed that he chose to shut doors on all foreign offers for the midfielder.
“Napoli and Juventus have never made any secret of asking us for Verratti. Juventus had started a little earlier and had some advantage in terms of time, but it is only with these two teams that we have held talks with, despite some interested expressed in the player from abroad.”
Sebastiani revealed that he enjoys a good rapport with President Aurelio De Laurentiis, and praised the Napoli chief’s direct approach towards addressing matters.
The Delfini boss hoped that he will continue to foster a strong relationship with the Azzurri, and stressed that a strong relationship between the two clubs from south will be good prospect for both the clubs.
