In what would be a worrying sign for the Rossazzurri, their sporting director refused to deny the possibility of a move to the Partenopei with a few others.
Pietro Lo Monaco had been handed the reins of scouting talent and organising their transfer strategy by Gli Elefanti President, Antonino Pulvirenti. However, reports of
late have suggested that Lo Monaco is eyeing for a move away from the club with possible interest from Napoli.
Further intensifying these speculations were the fact that the sporting director decided to step down from the managing director position he held at Segea – a sports http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Enterprise-c39011

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 is the hometown of Lo Monaco and reports suggest that he would not mind going back and giving his expertise to the Azzurri. Vincenzo Montella has been heavily linked
for the managerial post at the Partenopei, with Aurelio de Laurentiis a keen admirer of the former AS Roma caretaker manager.

When quizzed on the possibility of Nicolas Spolli, Gli Elefanti defender, joining him and Montella on the road to Napoli, the sporting director suggested:
“I’m going to Napoli with Montella and Spolli? These days there is a lot of chatter created. Currently I am caught at the end of a year that has provided great satisfaction.
I am a staunch southerner, a Neapolitan and certified interest from Napoli is of course very pleasing.”
However, he failed to effectively quash any speculations linking him with a move away from the Naples-based club. He stated that he does speak to De Laurentiis on regular
occasions but mentioned that the talks were regarding the Serie A, and nothing more than that. He further mentioned that he will consider his future at Catania when the time comes.

The director was further pressed on the likelihood of Montella and him joining hands again in the summer, but this time at Napoli, to which he commented:
“Montella? He is a young Coach who has the DNA of a great Coach. He is destined to work for a great team. Would he be one of three of us to move to Napoli? Anything can
happen.”
Lo Monaco further went on to state that whoever took over the realms of Napoli needed to make sure that they begin competing at the top as soon as possible.
