Napoli place massive buy-out clause on Manchester City target http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955
Italian club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
The Uruguayan, international was being linked with a move to a number of top European clubs, due to his outstanding performances for Napoli this past season. The forward, went on to score twenty six league goals, which went on to help the club secure a third spot finish in the domestic league. As a result of that finish, Napoli are now set to compete in the Champions League next season.
As a result, the club have now gone on to place a massive 100 million Euros buy-out clause in the striker’s contract, in hopes to ward off any potential suitors.
Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis when talking about Cavani and his new contract is quoted to have said: "I should have my license as president of Napoli taken away if I sell Cavani unless it is for 100 million euros"
"He (Cavani) recently signed a contract extension and I have given him a good deal, which he merits."
The twenty four year old recently went on to sign a one year contact to his contract, due to which he is now tied down to the club until 2016.
This news is going to come as a shock to the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid, both of whom were looking more than eager to make a move for the striker.
However, what Napoli seem to have failed to identify, was the buying power of the two clubs. Both Madrid and City have more than enough cash to spend on Cavani and should the two clubs really be interested in landing the player, they would be more than just willing to splash out the required cash.
Both Madrid and City have been facing striker dilemmas this past season. Madrid seem to be failing at finding the ideal target man up front, who can capitalize on the brilliant play that the rest of the team produces. On the other hand,  Manchester City still don’t know if they are going to keep a hold of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez or not. The Argentine forward has been linked with a move out of the club for over three months now and there is still no telling what the future holds for him.
Nonetheless, according to most experts, out of the two teams, City are the more likely to be willing to splash out the 100m for the player, while Madrid might just end up looking for cheaper solutions, elsewhere.
