Riccardo Bigon, Partenopei sporting director, has reiterated that the Neapolitan outfit has no intention of letting go of their Uruguayan centre-forward.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danubio-c38898 striker has had a splendid campaign for the Partenopei, and has been pivotal in their success over the past two years. He was sensational for the Naples outfit in their UEFA Champions League endeavours, which
saw the club reach the last 16, only to be beaten by the eventual champions, Chelsea.
Juventus have been in hot pursuit of the South American forward, and have tabled an offer of 40 million Euros along with Alessandro Matri moving to Napoli in the deal. They revised their offer and included http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 and
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Matri-c4733 along with 20 million Euros.
Napoli rebuffed both the offers, and have sent out a strong signal of their intent to keep hold of the player.
Their sporting director has put his foot down over the future of their prized asset. The chief was talking to Corriere dello Sport, and went on to state:
“He is not for sale. I’ve said that before and I’ll say that yet again. The President has made it very clear what he thinks about Edi and the player himself has stated what he thinks of Napoli.”
Napoli have been busy in the transfer window, having sold http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lorenzo-Insigne-c22431 from his loan stint at Pescara.
Bigon went on to state that they should not indulge in useless speculation, as papers have linked Insigne and Cavani to moves away from the Partenopei outfit. The sporting director went on to suggest that they would not be compelled
to buy, and would assess their transfers thoroughly.
He was quoted to have said:
“There is no point in buying for the sake of buying. Napoli almost knocked out the future winners of the Champions League [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786], we won the Italian Cup and battled for third place until the end.
The buyout price of the Neapolitan forward is 70 million Euros, a figure Juventus are not likely to match; and Aurelio De Laurentiis has suggested http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003’s commitment in keeping hold of Cavani and Hamsik for the coming season.
