Napoli attacking midfielder, Marek Hamsik, has expressed his delight at the club’s outstanding display during the 2010/11 season. He mentioned that he had never thought that the Partenopei would become such a formidable unit and was delighted to have qualified
for the next year’s UEFA Champions League.

This is the first time that Napoli have qualified for Europe’s most elite competition in 21 years. The Slovakian enthused that it’s been a pleasure playing for such a high profile club and vowed to do his best when Napoli next take the field.
The 23-year-old further added, "I'll be honest, a few years ago I'd never have though that this club could be great again, but with time, Napoli improved and thankfully it all went well. Serie A is extremely tough. Looking back over the season, the last
group game of the Europa League certainly stands out, as we managed to grab a 1-0 win over Steaua Bucharest in stoppage time to go through."
The midfielder joined the Naples outfit in 2007 after spending three years at Brescia. Since then, the midfielder has managed to appear 140 times in the League, netting in 41 goals. This season, Hamsik made 24 Serie A appearances and scored 8 goals. He also

The midfielder has also attracted interest from the Italian Champions, AC Milan, this season but assured of his stay at the Stadio San Paolo for the time being.
He concluded by saying, "We knew the fans would explode after getting into the Champions League and that was the case. I can't imagine what would happen in Naples if we won something."
Napoli finished third in this year’s campaign and would ride their luck next year in UEFA Champions League.
