Naproxen/ Aleve -- why Tinnitus? ?

Does anyone know the reasons why NSAIDS (non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication) such as Naproxen causes TINNITUS as a well known side-effect? Insufficient blood - circulation, nerve cell poisoning, ..

Also, does anyone know if prolonged use of Naproxen causes nerve cell damage in the eyes (e.g.macular degeneration)?
