  1. Great place good race course, close enough to adelaide and the beach, wineries etc.

    Have fun.

  2. I spent a night there recently, and it's a very nice town. The beach is a fair way away, probably about an hours drive at Robe (which is also very nice). The area is full of vinyards, farms and pine plantations.

The area around Naracoorte and Mt Gambier is full of caves and sinkholes - there are very interesting fossil and limestone formation caves in Naracoorte. Tourists travel the world to see the fossils.  It also has an absolutely lovely swimming lake made from an old sinkhole surrounded by grass and trees, with jetties, shallow and deep areas, perfect for kids.

It is only a regional town, not a big city, so things to do will be a bit limited, but it seemed like a really lovely place to live.

  3. I really wish I could help you but I have never been to SA. I have heard wonderful things about SA, Adelaide in particular. Suposedly it is a beautiful and picturesque place.

I kept most of my adventures to the east coast as it had everything I was looking for, being a SCUBA diver. I had a look on a map at google.com.au to see where you will be and without knowing what youre there for or how much spare time youll have the only things I can suggest would be small trips to Adelaide and definately Melbourne if you can spare the time. Melbourne is a beautiful and fun city. Im from Sydney myself so Im always going to say if you get a chance to go there it will be the highlight of your trip. It has the most things to see and will offer the wild and crazy memories you need to make it an amazing trip.

The weather will also be a lot better the further north you can get.

As far as how long it will take you to get places. When you look on a map a good rough guide is to allow 1hr for every 100km on the highways. I think the beaches near where you will be staying will have realy cold water. All the nice beaches are in Sydney and everything to the north.

I can really think of what else to mention but if I think of anything else I'll keep you in mind and write you.
