Question:

Narrowing down list for baby girl?

by  |  earlier

I'm expecting a baby girl in only a couple of months, and I can't seem to decide on a name for her. So far the list consists of Lucy, Zoë, Sophie, Charlotte, Daisy, Isla, Georgia and Isobel. Big, I know, that's why I need help. Which do you like/dislike?

  1. Like- Zoë (though the umlauts will cause a problem on certain applications and forms), Sophie, Daisy, Charlotte, Isla.

Don't like- Lucy (too much of a nickname to me), Georgia (I don't like state names), and Isobel.

  2. I love Isobel, but then.. my sister is called it, so.. I would! It is spelt a different way though (Isabelle), I also like Sophie. My other sister is called Imogen. They both begin with the same letters, except me! Lucy is also nice, I love the name Lucinda and Lucy has a nice ring to it. Goodluck with picking the name, they are all lovely choices! :)

  3. congrats on ur pregnancy

one of my favourite names is daisy-but i like the name spelled like this daisee, im not keen on charlotte, lucy and sophie because i find that a lot of people have these names. i like isobel and isla alot too, but im not sure about georgia- y not spell it like this jorja? anyways hope i helped

  4. I love georgia, but them I'm biased because my sons name is george!

I would go for georgia definately, very pretty and girly!

I dislike Isla sounds like a country and Isobel reminds me of my little cousin whos a bit of a brat, but by all means dont let that put you off :)

  5. Charlotte Isobel

    Isla Sophie

    Daisy Isobel

    Sophie Isobel

  6. Hate Georgia and Charlotte.

    Daisy... is a cow's name.

I worry that Isla will always get called Ilsa and get annoyed.

Lucy is nice, but nothing spectacular.

That leaves Zoe, Sophie and Isobel...

Zoe is good, but what's the keystroke to make the two dots over the e?

Isobel favourite name ever... favorite spelling of it as well.

Sophie is cute, but I prefer Sofia, so I'm of no help there.

  7. Lucy- pretty and normal

    Zoe- Nice

    Sophie- lovely name

    Charlotte- absolutely gorgeous

Daisy- pretty but sounds more like a dog

    Isla- hate that name

    Georgia -OK but too common

    Isobel- pretty but overused now

My favourites are Sophie and Charlotte

  8. I like Isla, Lucy, Charlotte and Zoe. I like Isla pronounced Aye - lah instead of eye -la. :) Just my opinion!

How about Zoe Charlotte? That's really cute!

  9. I don't much like any of the names exept for Zoe...but even that sounds SOOOO OLD!  How something classic, refined, used (but not over used) such as Olivia, Elizabeth,....or something rather generational such as McKenna, Haleigh...or something else....

    Just a few ideas, lol

  10. I love the name Isobel but spelt Isabelle!! - My favourite

I also like Zoe, Charlotte and Sophie.

I hate Lucy, Isla and Daisy - sorry!!

  11. You've chosen lovely names all by yourself, you don't need our opinions.  When you see your little girl you will know what her name is.  Personally the only ones I don't like are Georgia and Zoe (sorry don't know how to get the umlaut on my computer).

  12. :-) I like Zoe and Sophie...

Actually I LOVE the Name Sophie! :-)

    definitely cute!

    Good Luck!

  13. My favorites are Sophie and Isla. I haven't heard of Isla before, but I think it's very pretty. I like Isobel as well, but I would spell it Isabel. Congrats and good luck!

  14. I love all your names.  I put the names in the order that I like them with my favorite on the top.

    Georgia-  unique and very cute

Charlotte- love this name and I really love scarlett too

Sophie-  you could name her Sophia and call her sophie.  Very chic

Zoe-  gaining popularity but it is still very cute

    Daisy-  very girly name

Isobel-  I like it better spelled with an a

Isla- not sure what to think about that name.

  15. Love Zoe, Sophie, Isla, and Charlotte. I like Isabella, not Isobel. I don't like the o.

Lucy = is okay, but it's not as unique: 7/10

    Zoe = Adorable! 9/10

    Sophie=beautiful: 9/10

Charlotte = gorgeous, call her Charley, 10/10

Daisy = I would NEVER name my kid Daisy. It's a mean name, and I think of Dukes of Hazzard

    Isla = Beautifully unique 10/10

    Georgia=don't really like it, 1/10

Isobel= HATE the spelling!!!!!!! Name Isabel, Isabelle, Isabella But NOT ISOBEL! 0/10 for spelling, the actual name is 10/10 You can call her Bella, Belle, Isa (Ee-sah), Izzy, Iz

  16. My favourites there are Daisy, Isla and Isobel because they are not unusual, but not the most common names.

I like the others but Lucy and Charlotte, there are too many of them names. (NOT CRITICISING anyone's names here)

  17. Lucy 2/10

    Zoe 7/10

    Sophie 6/10

    Charlotte 8/10

    Daisy 1/10

    Isla 8/10

    Georgia 2/10

Isobel 0/10 spelled like that 9/10 spelled Isabelle

  18. I think its important to give a child a name that wound't seem to "little girlie" when they become a doctor or lawyer....or what ever.

I think Sophia is beautiful...and call her Sophie.

    Charlotte is also a beautiful..

Why this spelling for Isobel, is it a family name? I think Isabella is just so beautiful..and call her Belle for short.

Isla certainly sounds nice, but she will probably spend her life correcting people on the spelling...

  19. I find Lucy, Zoe, Sophie, Charlotte, Daisy and Isla all beautiful.

I prefer Isobel spelt Isabelle. But also a beautiful name.

    Not as keen as Georgia.

  20. I like:

    Lucy: Cute, pretty, relatively uncommon

Charlotte: Pretty, and you can call her Charlie

Isobel: Pretty, you can call her Bel

    I don't really like:

Isla: It's alright but there may be pronunciation problems (Is-la instead of I-la)

    Georgia: Old-fashioned

Daisy: A bit cartoonish, reminds me of a pet name, I'm not sure why, actually.

    Zoë/Sophie: A bit too common

  21. My favourite is Isla, it is just so pretty and not too unusual without being samey. I don't really dislike any of them but my least favourite would probably be Isobel, I prefer Isabella. Congratulations and good luck x

  22. I like Sophie, Daisy, and Isobel.

  23. like zoe, sophie, charlotte, isla, georgia, and isobel, not lucy but that's because someone i know that name and i did not like her.

how about adding Evie  to the list, i think its really lovely

  24. anyone of them except daisy...she's only a baby for a little while, i wouldn't be able to take a grown woman called daisy seriously

  25. Like:

Sophie (I Think You Should Do Sophia)

    Daisy

Isobel (I Think You Should Do Isabella)

    DisLike:

    Zoe

    Charlotte

    Isla

    Georgia

    Ok Names:

    Lucy

    Hope This Helps=]

    Ok Names:

  26. I don't like:

Lucy, Zoe, Charlotte, Daisy and Georgia.

I don't mind Isobel as Issie is nice for short :)

Sophies ok - a little common in my opinion though.

I personally prefer Sophia. Simple yet pretty.

Isla - I'm not sure how thats pronounced..sorry.

  27. I love Isla.  It is unique, but beautiful!  I like Isobel, but I really prefer it spelled Isabelle, but that is just my opinion.

Charlotte is ok too, but I really do not like Daisy or Georgia.

  28. Best to worst:

Isabella (I like that better than Isobel) or Isabel(le)

    Charlotte

    Georgia

    Sophie

    Daisy

    Lucy

    Zoe

    Isla

Others- Alexandra, Alyssa, Autumn, Adrienne, Ada, Eva, Petra, Jeannie (genie), Kelly, Cara, Madeline, Brianna, Felicity.

    Congrats and hope I helped =) x

  29. I absolutely adore the names Lucy, Zoë, and Daisy. They're gorgeous! I hope you go with one of the three. I'm not too keen on Isla or Georgia, they're pretty but I don't think they could even compare with the other three. Sophie, Charlotte and Isobel are pretty and classy but they've definitely been overused within the last few years. Lucy, Zoë or Daisy are classic, feminine and elegant. My personal favorite is Zoë. I also believe that the meaning of this name is "life," which I think is breathtaking. Variations of the name Zoë are Zoe, Zoee, Zoie, Zoey. Congratulations and the best of luck!

  30. Zoë, not a fan of this name

    Sophie, this is cute

    Charlotte, dislike

    Daisy, LOVE Daisy

Isla, This is one of my favorites

    Georgia , this is ok

    Isobel. Very cute

  31. My two favorites are Isobel and Zoe.  Lucy, Sophie, Charlotte, Daisy are either too common or too old sounding.

    Good luck!!
