Nasal Cauterization and athletic activity?

I may need to get my nose cauterized this morning but I have a high school football game I need to play in tonight. Will I be able to play? Does it depend on the procedure my doctor decides to use? Would I be better off putting it off till tomorrow? I DO NOT want to miss this game. My team needs me.

  1. I'm going to answer this because of sheer coincidence.

My brother just got his ear cauterized, and we had like, a 20 minute conversatioin on how to spell the word, and whether it was 'cauterize' or 'clauterize' as in 'clott.'

Anyways, they cauterized his ear, and he was given no pain relievers afterwards.

He said that it was burning a lot, and hurt to yawn or hold his breath.

Since the ear is connected to the nasal cavities, I would assume that it would hurt you as well, maybe even more.

I would suggest either not playing, or rescheduling the appointment until after your game.

    Good luck in both! =]
