if you happened to catch the espn show "e:60" tonight, they had a segment featuring up-and-coming nascar driver joey "sliced bread" logano. during an interview with logano, they talked about how he is "ultra-competitive" and how for him, "second is THE WORST." then logano quoted vince lombardi:

"show me a good loser and i'll show you a loser."

do you believe the lombardi quote logano used? is a good loser a loser?

  1. I believe Logano just stabbed one of his biggest proponents and mentors, namely Mark Martin, in the back with such a quote. I think the old man needs to teach the young boy a lesson.  But anyway, that's just my opinion, and they're like bellybuttons.

  2. As long as he can back that quote up, it doesn't matter if he's a good or bad loser.

  3. Exactly!! If anyone's ever been involved with racing competively, or any other sport for that matter, they'd feel the exact same way as Joey does. It's easy to stand back from where we are and call people sore losers and what not, but if these people have actually raced competively before and had the desire to win, they'd know that drivers/players/coaches/teams that talk like that are the ones that have the most success 9 times outta 10. To me, being a sore loser is a key step to being successful.

There is another quote..."Winning isn't everything, but losing sucks"

I guess it takes understanding what it's like to be in the drivers shoes to really know what all that means, but that is why I cheer for him and drivers like him. If losing is good, it's gonna be hard to win...at anything. You have to try to win everytime you strap in, or at least think you will, and when you lose you need to be upset, doesn't matter if it's 2nd or 42nd. That's what makes you hungry to win the next week. That's a great quote, and anyone who appreciates the competition of racing and any other sport for that matter should appreciate that comment.

  4. Oooh...That's a great quote! A little arrogant, a little cocky, but a great quote none the less. Provided he proves he has the talent to back up such a quote.

Wonder bread boy's growing on me, but I still hate the nickname..

lol..on the "idiot" quote. I wish he would have!!!

  5. I think he was refering to drivers who don't have the drive to win  like JR

  6. I think it is a great quote. The right mindset for winning.Vince had the right idea. Wnning isn`t everything. Its the only thing. The kid is gonna do fine.
