Currently i buy all sizes (mostly 1/24th) and for some odd reason a lot of Rusty Wallace and Terry LaBonte stuff. Neither one is my favorite driver but I like their cars. Do any of you Nascar collectors do the same thing?

  1. I have a few other sizes but 1/24th when I can.

    I have:

    Rusty's black MGD #2 T-bird.

    Irvans black Havoline #28 T-bird.

Hamilton Sr's yellow Kodak #4 Monte Carlo.

Michael Waltrips blue Napa #55 Camry. (latest)

I have a Top Fuel dragster I don't like but had to have because I liked the driver at the time. It's Ernie Hill's yellow Pennzoil Dragster.

I also have a Franklin Mint made yellow Pro Street '57 Chevy and plum colored 50 Mercury lead sled.

I have about 500 Hot Wheels packed away. 80% are new in the package including some Nascar stuff and 20% are nice vintage 'Redline' pieces. .

My dad has about 30 Franklin Mint 1/24th car's.

  2. Mostly 1/24 scale, but my husband has a collection of all sizes, and yeah, we have cars of drivers we're not even fans of, sometimes it's all about the car.

  3. i stick with the hot wheels size 1:64 cars from action collectibles (and whatever they were called before).  the coolest one i have is a special 2003 darlington finish set, with craven's #32 tide car inching out kurt's #97 rubbermaid car at the line - staged in the package.

for this year i have purchased the #18 m&ms camry, the #2 miller lite dodge, the #20 home depot camry, two #11 camrys (kinkos and fedex express), and the two #88 impala ss's (national guard and amp'd).  oh, and the #7 motorola indycar.

  4. The 1/24th is the collectors standard. However the 1/64 th is a good size to have as a conversation piece.

  5. I collect only 1/24 scale. I collect Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon diecast. The reason I collect 1/24 scale is because I found out that they are worth more.

  6. I buy all 1/24, but I have a few 1/64 that were given to me. My cars are almost all Dale Sr. and Jr., with a few Harvick cars of historical significance mixed in.

I also have a Kid Rock sponsored Tony Stewart Busch car that I bought just because it was cool.

  7. I started collecting the 1/64, now I mainly pick up the 1/24. I buy the Action stuff (or Motorsports Authentics, what ever they call it now) of all Dale Jr, and Sr., or any car I like. I will buy stuff from Wal-Mart on occasion, but it's got to be something cool, or special. (like when they had the Winners Circle 1/64 cars with the pieces of sheet metal, I picked up A Jr and Sr. The Sr has the piece from the Taz car, mine is 3 colors, red, black and silver.)

  8. 1/24th scale Elite. I really like the 1/32nd scale also as they are big enough to have good detail and small enough that they take up less room. I especially like RCCA as they sometimes offer autographed cars at no additional cost. I do have all sizes including a few 1/18 scale from the 50s,60s,and 70s. Those are actually my favorite size but are hard to find and a lot more expensive. So I guess it's true. Size does matter.

  9. I tend to collect cool paint schemes and drivers who are either dead or retired. I buy some lesser drivers like jeremy Mayfield, Jeff Burton, and Denny Hamiln in 1/64th, but everything else is 1/24th...like anything Kenny Irwin from 2000 or Davey Allison from 1993.

  10. I collect 1:64 because they are cheap but I usually buy one 1:24 a year. All of which are Elliott Sadler. I stopped buying the jacket since he is on his 3rd sponser in 3rd sponser in 3 years and he has 3 this year as well.

  11. 1/24 is what I get.

  12. I buy all sizes also. I have a couple of curio cabinets full of Rusty Wallace diecast and NHRA Top Fuel dragsters too. I also have a bundle in the closet I havent even opened, along with some Davey Allison stuff as well. So, yes could could say that I collect diecast.

  13. 1/24 when buying, but I have have several 1/64 that was given to me.

    1/24

    #8 Bud car AUTOGRAPHED

    #88 Amp car

    #88 NGuard car

    1/64

    All kinds of Dale Sr

#3 AC Delco Busch Series Dale Jr (still in original packaging)
