Nascar fans, I could use a little help?

I'm working on gift baskets for my family for Christmas, (I know, it's only May, early shopper) anyway, they're all nascar fans, too,

and I wanted to do each basket with stuff for their favorite drivers.

My question is, if someone were to give you a gift basket, what would be the 1 thing you'd MOST like to see in the basket?

(please don't say tickets, there are 7 people I'm making these for, I can't afford that many tickets, lol..)

  1. a t-shirt, a hat, and a diecast. Young money, I see you've come in here to stereotype, kinda sad since I won't drink anything cheaper than Guiness.

  2. the die cast cars are the best, really. they're cool and cheap.

  3. As you can tell from the many responses to date, it depends.  I would agree to wait for silly season to end for any drivers who may be moving.  Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle or Bobby Labonte to name a few.  If they are Jeff G, Dale jr or Jimmy Johnson your probably pretty safe.  Poke around you'll find some unique stuff.  My wife gave me a Tony S  T-shirt for my BD,  all it says in Orange is

Her Kitty Kitty... Tony Stewart July 29,2007.

One thing that comes to mind right now is the NASCAR day pin.    They would all know they helped their favorite Drivers charity.

  4. Maybe an autographed card of their fav driver or maybe a die cast car.

  5. if i can't say tickets, how about money for tickets? ;-)

i'd say the 1:64 scale car of their favorite driver.  and for the kids (or adults who already collect their own cars), those little nascar beanie bears.

as for the hats, i prefer to pick them myself.  i can't tell you how many times i've ordered a hat online (or tried them on at the track) and just really hated how it fit.  maybe it's just the shape of my head - blocks are always hard to fit hats on. ;-)

last suggestion - at least some drivers autograph items or pictures if you send them in with return packaging.  i've found a couple by looking at the team sites.

  6. diecast, autogragh picture, kidnap the driver lol

  7. I got a pair of slippers last year, and a Christmas ornament and I love them both. But yeah, the diecast cars are always great.

  8. A hat and a diecast but I would hold up until silly season pans out a bit.

  9. Shop arround at K-mart, Target, Wal-mart and even swap meets and flea markets, I made a couple of these a couple yrs, you can also check on Nascar.com for there outlet and close out section as well.. Theres lots of stuff out there, Stickers, magnets, caps, theres the small die cast cars as well....I've even seen ink pens, post it notes.... Wow we all know what T-bone wants...more soap on a rope Old Spice or English Leather..You mean they still make soap on a rope..

    Go Dale Jr  & Hms

  10. MMMM let me see???????? A #2 KURT BUSCH HAT! Or some stickers are always cool with me. Merry Christmas!!(In May) I might forget by then.

LOL @ Tbone! Soap on a rope. I'll take some Blue Deuce soap on a rope.

  11. Well I would be happy if there was a kasey kahne mug, hat, pillow, blanket, shirt, pj bottoms, poster, and pretty much anything with KASEY KAHNE... (my favorite driver/hottie)

  12. Hot wheels die cast(cheap but cool) of my favorite driver and just a new cap to wear.   Preferably one without the sponsors logo.  I only wear product with the driver or team info.   A mug or coozie is cool as well.

Lucky family.  I still get soap on a rope from some people.

  13. Since it's for christmas, you can try ebay & get some Christmas ordaments. Depending on who their favorite driver(s) are, it shouldn't be too hard to find them.

Also, like others have said, hats, cards, t-shirts, diecasts, hat pins, magnets, keychains, window clings, stickers, lounge pants, ink pens, pincels, cigeratte lighters (I have like 30 & don't even smoke), maybe even a DVD, shotglasses, etc......

You should be able to get any number of those from wal-mart, dollar general, nascar superstore, even ebay, or even your local sports memeribella store.

  14. the best thing to do is to get them tickets for the Daytona 500 (February) and the Indianapolis 500 (may or June)

  15. Do you have Dollar Tree stores in your area?  I know it sounds cheap, but you can find really cool stuff there for a dollar.  I have cardboard-backed Jimmie Johnson & Jeff Gordon posters that I found at the DT.

There's always M&Ms, die-cast cars, kerchiefs, stickers, etc.  I'm sure that your family will appreciate anything you give them, Winter Glory.

{Please note that I did not suggest anyone's head in a basket.}  lol
