  1. it grew on me. I like the racing, but they are so d**n ugly.

  2. It is a decent looking car and seems to run well. I think it is funny though that it was designed to be safer, which it is, and to go a little slower which it isn't. Or doesn't seem to be. Ask Dale Jr, it takes a little harder hit in the quarter panel to spin it out. Not like the ole love tap and rubbin racin thing. Ya alomsot have to intensionally try and hit someone to be successful.

  3. I like the COT because of its improved safety and durability. It makes for better racing at superspeedways and short tracks, because cars can bump-draft and beat and bang on each other without wrecking.

But as good as it has made the large and short tracks, it has made the intermediate tracks into follow-the-leader single-file snoozefests. Only a few cars have been finishing on the lead lap at the 1.5 & 2 mile tracks, and the races are terrible. This is a major problem because the bulk of the Cup schedule is cookie-cutter tracks.

Overall, I like the COT in some areas, but its poor performance at the intermediate tracks makes me like the old cars better. If NASCAR could somehow change the COT to race better at the cookie-cutters, I would be completely satisfied with it.

  4. i love 'em.  I see the Nationwide cars this season and I think those cars are so bad look'n.  I know its only gunna take time for this car to have some of the same featurs the old one had (not perfectly simetricl) teams will figure it out, but i like how its taller and i love the wing and the splitter.

  5. I like the body design on the old car but I have to say the new car has its pluses. It definitely creates a better draft at Superspeedways and makes for a lot more banging around without the wrecks.  Like last week at Talladega if they would have been using the old car when Jr went down the race and back up across he would have lost control and been in the garage for the rest of the race.  But with the COT he was able to save it and go on to a 10th place finish.

  6. As soon as the race starts I don't think about it!

I do think that they can be saved when out of control.

    Which is a good thing!

  7. That really depends on what you call original race cars. I think you are talking about the twisted sister cars and I like the COT better. The drivers have to drive this car not just steer it. It really shows who the real drivers are. Just so you know the original race cars were off the show room cars. Win on sunday sell on monday.

  8. only on grounds of safety

  9. I think the car is a lot better safety wise, but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of leaving room for ingenuity, the way these cars are layed out if a team is lucky enough to hit a setup off the trailer they can almost tack weld it in place and it will work. The France family need to back off the spec racer plan a bit and allow some adjust-ability back into the cars, unless they want to return to the '70's when a  Pearson or a Petty or a Baker would put a lap on the field with regularity. Maybe a couple of those wouldn't hurt, but for a flat tire last Saturday was easily one of the most boring races of recent memory.

  10. i think its safe but i like the old  cars better in away

  11. It gets a thumbs up for safety, but that's about it.

NA$CAR should allow the manufactures and builders more leeway, in making the cars look like Chevvies, Fords Toys, n Dodges..

I would like to look at an Impala, and say ...

"Hey, that looks like a Chevvy!"

    Who wouldn't love a '62 Impala racin' a '62 Gran Prix racin' a '62 Galaxie racin' a '62 Plymouth?

  12. I am slowly worming up to it at first I hated the idea of changing cars,

  13. The COT can take a pounding and keep on racing like the old cars did, There are less yellow flags as the cars do not spin as easy as the last gen of cars so you get to see some good racing again with the COT finaly.

  14. I like it, there is alot of people that dont but racing will only get better.

  15. it has its ups and downs, but i like that they can take more hits with no need to go to the garage.  the worst thing is that i got a fathead for tony stewart last year and, well, its not a COT.  grrr

  16. I like it now.  At first I didnt like it.

  17. I love it i mean it seem like every race at the end it is a close finish they do need improvement at the 1.5 mile tracks they seem to be haveing a little trouble at them but other then that i love the car.
