  1. NASCAR is for everyone, you don't have to pray if don't want to. NASCAR isn't a government organization, so seperation of church and state doesn't apply. It's non-demoninational, sometimes the minister for the track does it, I've also been to races where there have been Methodists, Baptists, a Catholic Bishop, Lutheran, and other Prodestants have given the invocation, so it doesn't point one to any particular demonination. It's allowed, because we can, and we will pray before a race. If you don't like it, too bad.

  2. If I watched a soccer game broadcast from the Middle East, I wouldn't be offended if it started with a prayer to Allah. I'm not Muslim, but I respect the right of those people to worship however they choose.

Nobody is forcing you to worship God if you don't wish to. So my suggestion is, if you don't want to hear it, why don't you just mute your television or go get a snack while the prayer is on?

  3. NASCAR is not franchised like other sports, it is privately owned by the France family and they do not have to answer to anyone.

And why not pray? They're strapping into a racecar and going hard at it for 3-4 hours with 42 other cars. I'd be praying too.

  4. It's their show they can do what they want. I either watch another channel for a little bit or turn down the sound during the invocation.

  5. I think it's great!

We should be thankful for Kyle Busch.....

  6. They should just consider themselves  VERY LUCKY !!!!!!!!!!!!1

  7. "I like to pray to the little baby Jesus!"

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  8. For the same reason it's allowed that they sing the National Anthem at ALL NASCAR sationed races. Even though they have viewers from all over the world. On occasion they will sing the Canadian Anthem & when the Nationwide series goes to Mexico they do the Mexican anthem, they also do the American  National Anthem at those events to.

NASCAR wants to do it that way & they will.

  9. "Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

  10. Meh, I don't really have any opinion on it. Let em do what they want. Now, if they forced it on us I'd be pissed.

Superdave or BradDawg should get best answer, looks like most of the others are pissy and childish.

  11. Because Its has nothing to do with the government. Even you if you dont believe in god then is it really gonna kill you while every one else takes like less then a minute to say a pray of protection for everyone at the track.

  12. First of all, it is a non-denominational Christian Nascar Ministry.  This is an American event, held in America and broadcast world wide.  The rest of the world is "WATCHING" our event.  That doesn't mean they have to follow our religious beliefs or practices.  They CHOOSE to view our races, they do not have to pray with us.  I choose to bow and pray.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  13. You know its funny because people who dont watch Nascar always say what a bunch of rednecks the fans are. At least all of us Nascar fans, rednecks or not, dont have a problem with a man of the cloth standing up in front of thousands of people and asking the GOOD LORD to bless everyone. Its the other people that have a problem with bowing their heads and praying, not us Nascar rednecks!!!

  14. And your point is!

  15. NASCAR is a private entity, it can do what it wants. Plus, no one demands that the fans pray to Jesus.

  16. Thank YOU Jesus for NASCAR!!!!

God Bless the drivers and the fans!!!

  17. I'm sorry buddy that you don't like it!! But here is the way it is this is a good oleboys sport originated in the south where JESUS is preached. And sorry to say you can't and won't take that away form us. If you don't like it turn the volume down or just don't watch nascar at all it won't break my heart. I don't tell you how to pray so don't question us!!!!!Everyone is so concerned about offending others now adays that AMERICA is getting lost in the shuffle. Pretty soon the name UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will offend someone and they will have a hissy when it's not changed.TOO BAD!!!!!

  18. Here in America we have freedom of religion. NASCAR is a private organization and has the right to pray any way they want and that just happens to be to Jesus who came to save us all. If you don't like it you don't have to watch. Go pray to some black desert rock if you want, but you have no right to tell us we can't pray in the name of Jesus. This is AMERICA and we are FREE !!!!!!

  19. This isn't a govt sanctioned event, they can do this if they want to, political correctness be damned(and thank god for it).

  20. I'll pray for you. After I pray to the Chevy god's.

  21. theres not government in nascar.

you don't have to pray or bow your head or anything during the praying in nascar.

you dont even have to watch nascar.

    it's your choice.

i choose to pray along & bow my head.

but you may do whatever you so please.

(btw..this gets me to 1000 points. which means i finally get up to the next level. so thanks :])

  22. ... The Christian religion says, Thy God is a jealous God. Thy shall have no other god before me".

Personally? My God is the reason why there is NASCAR and everything else we have in this world. Tell the other gods to bless their followers with their own races.

My God is real. Seek an Ye shall find.

  23. There is no government in Nascar. If you dont want to bow your head and pray you dont have to. This is a great country we live in and you have the right not to pray or to watch or anything. I however choose to pray and I bow my head.
