Nash hopeful of West Indies' victory against Pakistan in Tests
The vice captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, Brendan Nash, is confident of his side’s composition and capabilities and hopes that they will claim the two-match Test series against Pakistan.
Pakistan and West Indies are going to meet at Providence Stadium, Guyana today, May 12, in the 1st Test.
Having defeated West Indies by 10 wickets in the quarter-final game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Pakistan went on to win the recently concluded 5-match ODI series 3-2.
Talking to the media here today, Nash said, “We have a good team and things are taking shape, so we believe we will do very well against the Pakistanis.”
West Indies holds seventh position in the International Cricket Council’s Test rankings. The team played their last Test in December 2010 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
On the other side, Pakistan has never won any Test Series on West Indian soil. They have lost 4 out of 6 series with two ended as draws.
Analysts believe that it is a golden chance for Pakistan to make history by winning the game.
Nash has great confidence on his batting skills and he thinks that he can bat well against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755. He said, “I am feeling really good the way I am batting. The last time I batted in a first-class match I got over 200.”
Some experts suggest that in the absence of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard, the West Indian side is somewhat weak and will find it hard to give a tough time to Pakistan.
Nash said, “We have a few new players who I have not had the joy playing a Test match with.” But he thinks, “We have good camaraderie in the team and we are all focused on the two Test matches upcoming.”
Nash has also admitted that the Men in Green are in good form and it will not be easy to deter them.
Pakistan has some good firepower in both its batting and bowling departments.
However, Nash strongly believes that his side will strive hard to resist the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723.
