Nashville Predators favourites heading into Los Angeles Kings Matchup Tuesday -NHL Preview
Nashville managed to edge Los Angeles in their last matchup on February 27, 2012, 2-1, but now Predators will definitely be looking to take the lead in their 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season series in their third matchup against Kings
on Tuesday, March 6.
With the recent addition of Andrei Kostitsyn, Paul Gaustad and Hal Gill, Nashville has begun looking like a team that has its eyes on the prize.
Los Angeles on the other hand has not been slacking either. Kings are currently on a two game winning streak but being in Nashville to face the Predators might be another reason to root for the home team.
"So far, it's so much fun to play," said veteran Nashville Predators goalkeeper, Pekka Rinne. "We're coming together as a team. We've got a young group of guys and with the few experienced guys; we're having so much fun."
Predators have three wins in the past four games of their own. Their last was against Florida Panthers, 3-1, a team that has been ranked third in the Eastern Conference for quite some time now.
Los Angeles also has something to boast about in terms of recent acquisitions. Kings acquired top level forward, Jeff Carter, from Columbus Blue Jackets, which has given a definite advantage in that department.
"I think it helped our confidence offensively," Dustin Brown said. "We can throw line after line out there that can score goals … it can make it doubly hard for an opposing team. They can't just key on the centre-men or (Kopitar's) line. For a while there
they were keying on Kopi and trying to shut Kopi down.”
Carter got his first double point game with Los Angeles in their matchup against Anaheim Ducks at home on March 3. His two goals were the deciding factor in Los Angeles dominated Ducks, 4-2, giving Kings something to look forward to in their upcoming matchups.
Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators will be going head-to-head on Tuesday night, March 6, 2012, at 8:00 PM ET in the Bridgestone Arena.
Prediction:
Nashville comes out as the winner with a lead of more than two goals but less than five in total.
