Nashville Predators plays host to Boston Bruins in the one and only meeting between the two this season
Nashville Predators will be playing host to Boston Bruins in another important game of Thursday at the Bridgestone Arena.
This will be the lone meeting between the two teams during the course of the season.
The last time that the teams were against each other on the 21st of October, 2009, Bruins managed to win the game by 3-2.
Bruins was one of the very strong teams in the league but their last few games have seen them fall in the standing a great deal.
They have managed to win only one game in regulation time out of the last five games they have played. They were in a comfortable lead in the Northeast Division but the recent poor form has seen them in a situation where they are trying to hold on to the
lead.
Predators, on the other hand, are just one spot behind the final playoff position and will be looking to win the game as they look to crawl their way into the cut and then to a few more spots above.
Bruins were going through some terrific results where they piled up winning streaks every now and then. They maintained a very good record on the road trips and the most successful and recent one saw them clean sweeping the series by 6-0.
They continued the surge and won another game on home ice to win seven consecutive games.
However, they have been going through some very difficult times recently which have seen them dropping off in the standing and still effects them a great deal.
The lower they finish the more chance is that they will have away games during the course of the play-offs.
However, this past game against Columbus Blue Jackets saw them coming up with a decent performance which resulted in them winning the game by 3-2 in the end after a shootout.
"Definitely, it was one of his biggest and best games of the year," Bruins’ coach, Claude Julien, said of Rask. "He was very poised and I thought he did a great job in the shootout."
Bruins have played 69 games during the course of the season out of which they have won 39 games in regulation time, nine games in overtime to score a total of 87 points.
On the other hand, Predators have played 70 games out of which they have won 35 games in regulation time, 10 games in overtime to score a total of 80 points.
Predators will be looking to score the vital one point which they need to get into the play-off cut.
However, they could have done this in their last game against Los Angeles Kings but they lost the game by 4-2.
"Every game is the most important game right now," Predators’ coach, Barry Trotz, said. "We're still in a pretty good position. Obviously as a team we want to get points or limit their points. … If things fall correctly, we're exactly where we might be starting
today with just one less game."
