Nashville Predators’ right winger Jack MacLellan looking to make most of his NHL experience
Jack MacLellan, a professional Canadian ice hockey player, would be looking to take advantage of the opportunity of being associated with one of the best teams of the ice hockey world, Nashville Predators.
24-year-old MacLellan, who is currently part of Nashville Predators organisation, a National Hockey League (NHL) team which plays in the Eastern Conference of the NHL, was signed by the team six months back when the undrafted player was signed in a one year
contract.
The Richmond, Ontario born player most of his hockey at college level and did not sign a contract until he was a graduate, just 3 months before his 24th birthday. He was one of the best players of the Brown University’s hockey team, Brown Bears
in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Though the left winger did not get any chance to step on the ice in the regular season games nor in the playoff games but still it would be an honour for him to train with few of the best players in the world at the team’s training area.
Talking about the experience of playing Nashville Predators All-Prospects game, which was played in June, MacLellan revealed that he did not feel like he had not got any chance of playing and played freely, which he considers a very lucky chance for him
as it got him excited. MacLellan said,
"I didn't look at it like I had made it or had already been in the NHL. It was a real good experience that I was really lucky to get. … If anything, it's just given me more hunger to get there."
Another lucky chance that the 5-foot-11, 185 pounder got was to be develop a friendship with Nashville Predators veteran player Hal Gill as the 37-year-old defenseman got his children in a school in Montreal and stayed in the same hotel as the MacLellan.
Despite all the age difference, they both became friends as incidentally both of them went to same school, though in different decades.
MacLellan must have learnt a lot from his experienced friend and from the practice sessions he had with the Predators team and it would be interesting to see how it affects his performance when he comes into action.
