Nashville Predators win 4-3 against Vancouver Canucks to make series interesting
The fifth game of the series was played at the Rogers Arena, this weekend as the Vancouver Canucks were hoping to wrap up the series, but it was the Nashville Predators, who won the game 4-3 in the end.
The game was important for the Predators, as a loss for them would send them out of the play-offs while the Canucks were hoping to storm past the Predators to book their place in the Conference Finals.
However, this didn’t happen and with the win the Predators are left trailing the Canucks 3-2 in the series.
The game started off with the Predators scoring an early goal but the Canucks were able to fight back and scored two goals during the remaining part of the period to get into the lead. The second period witnessed the Predators scoring the lone goal of the period to keep the scores on level terms.
The Predators came out strong in the final period to score twice early on. Though the Canucks scored a goal later on, it wasn’t enough as the Predators won the game 4-3 in the end. Joel Ward was named the star of the game, as he scored two goals and came up with an assist.
The Predators were the stronger of the two teams as they scored in the fourth minute through David Legwand from a well placed flick shot to get into the lead. The Canucks were able to come up with a fighting effort that saw them levelling the scores with a sixth minute goal scored by Raffi Torres.
The period moved on with both teams creating chances but it was the Canucks, who scored once again through Ryan Kesler to take the lead in the 16th minute. The period ended with the Canucks making 12 shots on goal, while the Predators made five shots on goal.
The Predators exploded at the start of the second period that saw them scoring in the very first minute. The goal was scored by Legwand once again from a flick shot. The period saw both teams coming up with shots on goal every now and then but there were no further goals.
The period ended with the scores level on 2-2 with both teams making eight shots on goal each.
The Predators started off the stronger of the two teams once again and they scored in the second minute through Ward once again from a quick fired shot. Ward scored once again in the sixth minute to put them in a comfortable position.
The Canucks managed to score a goal through Kesler in the 17th minute from a flick shot but in the end it was the Predators who won 4-3.
