Nashville Predators wins 4-3 against Buffalo Sabres in a nerve-wrecking Sunday game

The second game on Sunday was hosted by Buffalo Sabres at the HSBC Arena as they were up against Nashville Predators.
Both teams are in the playoff cut in their respective Conferences but they are in the seventh spots.
Both the Conferences have heated up in terms of the final playoffs’ positions and a win for either of the teams would give them crucial points.
Predators made a decent start that saw them scoring the lone goal to lead by a goal at the end of the first period.
The second period saw Sabres coming out strong and scoring thrice to get into the lead.
The final period saw Predators scoring twice in the final minute to level the game on 3-3.
The game went in overtime where Predators scored once again to win the game 4-3 in the end.
Blake Geoffrion of Predators was named the star of the game as he scored three goals.
The home team was the favourite to make a strong start and keep the opposing team down and under. All was going according to plan when all of a sudden Predators exploded with bursts of energy and shots on goal after some superb play making.
The away side stunned the home crowd by scoring in the 7th minute through Blake Geoffrion’s well placed flick shot.
The period saw both teams making quite a few shots on goal but they weren’t able to find the back of the net with the same regularity.
The period ended with no further goals with Predators leading by 1-0 at the end.
During the course of the period, Predators made 6 shots on goal while Sabres made 11 shots on goal.
The second period saw Sabres dominating the period offensively. They scored twice in the 8th minute to get into the lead and set the home crowd wild.
The goals were scored by Nathan Gerbe and Tim Connolly’s well placed flick shots.
They scored once again in the 19th minute through Tyler Ennis to complete a dominating performance during the period.
The period ended with Sabres leading 3-1. During the course of the period, Sabres made 17 shots on goal while Predators could manage just 10 shots on goal.
The final 20 minutes of play was pretty much even in terms of shots on goal but it was Predators who were very strong as the end of the period approached.
Predators scored twice during the period in the 18th and 19th minutes. Both goals were scored by Geoffrion from decent shots.
The game ended with the scores level on 3-3 and therefore the game went into overtime.
During overtime, Predators scored through Martin Erat’s powerful strike to win the game by 5-4 in the end.
